Border Collies were bred to work and therefore live to work. Like they create their own jobs if you don't give them one. They live to please. That drive to work is so strong that they'll work themselves dead. Literally. As a kid I played with a border collie to the point where she almost collapsed from heat stroke. My oldest girl's solution to ripping a massive wound in her paw is to continue running at full speed. They're addicts to work. I have to be the advocate for their health because they certainly don't care for their own well being. |
