Posted 2022-10-19 07:07:09 #857465 prologue: soft grass tickled his paws, the light scent of leaf's and dirt filled the air. small noises of bugs surrounded mandrake, and a feeling of calm swept over him. this forest... this forest is just what he needed. he had never seen a forest from the inside, but, of course, he's never been out in the wild by himself either. mark those off his bark list. still, he loved the quiet nature of the forest, its fresh air and grassy nature made him feel at home. a small snapping noise alerted him. he turned quickly, but there was nothing there. he shrugged. just a squirrel. he kept walking. another snap. louder, with abit of a forceful tone to it. ok, now THATS not a squirrel! he turned again, but still no one. he was so confused. why was something stalking him? he turned to continue walking. bright amber eyes stared back at him. he shrieked, jumping straight into the air and then tumbling back down. he stood up again to look at the wolf, which still stared back at him. the wolf was a black based female, with amber sun eyes and a shinny black nose. she did not move, nor did it look like she was breathing. mandrake stood up slowly. the wolf did not move. mandrake stared back into the wolfs eyes, until it started to get really stressful and weird, so he turned back around and decided to walk back to his cave. but as he took few steps away from the wolf, it went around and stopped him. mandrake didn't know why this wolf was doing this. the wolf stared for a good long moment, then turn and ran into the bushes. mandrake couldn't choose if he should follow her or go back to his cave. he decided to follow her, deep into the woods, through rivers and thorn bushes. . thorns pricked his paws, and his legs where wearing out. as he ran towards the wolf, the day passed by so fast, he was startled to see that it was dark quickly, and by the time he catched up, there where already stars in the sky. but he stopped to see he had followed the wolf all the way to an opening in the trees. mandrake found the wolf who stared at him, and approached her slowly. the wolf turned to look at him, her eyes seeming to glow in the dim light of the stars. but before he could speak, the wolf howled a high pitch howl, and ran into the woods, her paw steps disappearing instantly. mandrake, confused as he was, sat there in the clearing, dumbstruck by that strange encounter. just as he finished thinking, a rustling noise sounded. mandrake looked up, thinking it was the wolf, but instead it was... another wolf. this one was also female, but with a beautiful glaucous base and orange eyes. her back was covered in a light black, like a turtle shell, and streaks of brown touched her shoulders and sides. across her face, though, was light red crossed her eyes, like war paint. she smelt of cold ferns and blueberry's. "oh!" the wolf said. "your not tala... have we met before?" mandrake was curious. "you mean that black wolf i saw?" "yes! have you seen her? i was due to seeing her tonight, but it seems that your call must have made me think..." "oh no no no no no..." mandrake quickly said. "no, umm... that 'tala' wolf had howled and ran off before i could ask why." the wolf sat down, wrinkles creasing her forehead as she thought. mandrake watched as she sat there, her eyes moving back and forth like as if a mouse was darting across in front of her. the wolf then sat up suddenly and spoke: "i know!! your the new leader tala appointed!" mandrake was shocked. "w-what!?!me?! a PACK leader???" the wolf nodded excitedly. "nononononononnono, im- I'm not-" "well, of COURSE you are, silly! why else would she try to get your attention and lead you here to me?" mandrake didn't know what to say. "b-but, i cant-" "course you can, silly!" the wolf said, nudging him. "i bet you could. tala told me about you." "really?" mandrake said surprised. "well, tala mostly just said 'i have the perfect leader' and 'he will lead the world to victory' and 'he will be such a perfect mate for you and you'll both have beautiful red and white pups-" the wolfs eyes widened and she covered her mouth. "umm.... whoops?" she said sheepishly. "those... miiiight have been my thoughts..." mandrake didn't get it. "s-so, I'm suppose to be a leader... to YOU?" the wolf shook her head. "no no no, later on there will be wolfs coming to join the pack, but for now, its just me, lynx!" mandrake took his paw out. "well, I'm mandrake. i guess, I'm your leader now?" "yup!" lynx said. "trust me, whatever you need, tala will help out!" mandrake smiled. "ok, then, new pack mate, lead on to... um... well, lead on!" lynx turned and trotted off into the forest, mandrake following behind. few moments later, the clearing was silent. ...... soft footsteps padded the ground, entering the light of the stars. tala looked up, her eyes glowing softly. "mmmm.... i see a future, bright and clear... this wolf..." tala looked at the bushes that the wolfs left through. "this wolf will bring hope..." tala walked into the direction of the wolfs, and everything was quiet again. a small note: there are some wolfs that had been in my pack befor i wrote this (age up to down): belrage oasis artic sora kumandra snowfox runner toruma pokky ryme for the sake of writting, i will not be adding any of these wolfs into my story, as 1. i do not clearly remeber anything they did and 2. i do not have there pictures anymore. the only wolf i will be adding into the story that was killed is blaze. also, please rate 1/10!	oakley #87010
