I have a theory... what if we will get to apply "werewolf" look to our wolves?! The following made me guess that: 1) The effigies depict humanoid figure, but sporting an animal skull head. A little too detailed and specific for just a currency to buy pumpkins and scary backdrops in a shop... This could hint at a "humanoid animal" theme being included somehow. 2) When you pick up the effigy in explore, it makes your wolf feel dizzy - this could imply it will be more than just decoration something, it could be something affecting our wolves. Bonefire makes me think about shamanistic rituals where effigies are burned in a special pyre. It could be some ritual. 3) We already have a fully updated werewolf lineart, so it wouldnt be a huge amount of art to do. I believe there was a suggestion to make decors work in anthro wardrobe? If admins did that, that's a complete set of ready art. 4) Halloween holiday is often associated with werewolves, and Wolvden is a game dedicated to wolves, so it would make 100% sense. We are getting so many cryptids across several events the world of Wolvden seems to be filled with them, there's at least 2 different werewolf enemies. 5) There's a genre rule stating "If there's a gun on the wall, it will certainly fire." - if there's a great, detailed, high-quality lineart already present, it is only a matter of time it will make its way into actual gameplay! Let me know what you think? Crazy theory or you think its something possible? |

Furthermore, werewolves are not traditionally associated with Halloween, it's purely a Hollywood invention. Halloween is about ghosts and spirits wandering the land at their maximum power, and people dress up and wear masks to confuse them, so that the spirits don't recognize them as humans and so drag them into the spirit world. It's basically camouflage for the living. Anyway, my theory is that it has something to do with bringing back the dead or raising the dead or summoning spirits or something of that nature. Halloween is where the veil between worlds is thinnest, so I think it's some kind of summoning ritual. Maybe we'll each get an item or items which increase the likelihood of producing or causing lethal mutations, give wolves undead/ghostly decor etc. Or better yet, you get an item that will bring back a dead pack mate who won't be immortal, and able to do roles and level up as they did before, but there will be something off about them, they'll look wrong or pass on some weird mutation if they're bred or disintegrade into an effigy when they die??? idk I'm throwing out ideas now. There also seems to be an emphasis on collecting as many MEs as you can, which means not everyone will get equal rewards. I guess we'll just have to see! |

And considering how Wolvden has its own "lore", inspired loosely of mythology but not directly based on any certain one, Im pretty sure the idea of cursed/blessed wolves becoming more like humans is not something impossible. In some mythologies, "werewolves" are not humans at all but rather, animals corrupted by some evil spirit. |

For animals too, there are several ways one might become cursed/posessed and become a creature similar to werewolf |

You say it's just a joke, I say its a subtle hint that our leaders are already beginning to subconsciously sense the possibility of other forms. |
