The doctor gave him a sad smile. "Well, I'm afraid that won't suffice sir." He shakes his head. "But you can pay the rest off within the next 7 days. If you give me those two items, all you have to do is give me 998 more treasure!" Without asking, he takes the two gems from Hawk's talons. "There's plenty of jobs around here. Why not go find one?" |

He was a light sleeper, so when Storm awoke, he walked over to her. "Feel any better?" He offered. "You're at my place now. I don't know about you, but I'd rather try to mend your wounds myself than an effective but more pricy doctor's visit." He went over to a crate, pushed off the trinkets on top of it, and pulled out some bandages. "Plus, maybe the pain will remind you how stupid it was of you to try someone in the Scorpion Den." He paused. "You don't play the hero around here. I don't know where you come from, but your reckless actions got Clover hurt too." Even if I don't like Storm, I don't want her bleeding all over my floor. He took the talon Khamsin had hit with an axe and began to bandage it. |

"I know you think lowly of me, but I've never killed anyone in my life." Well, I've tried to a few times. But she doesn't have to know that. He paused to think for a few moments. He continued in a more stern tone. "I listened to their demands because that's what you do in the Scorpion Den. They said if I brought them the stuff they would end it, but you couldn't throw aside your pride for five seconds. You just had to try and win the battle, so you just dragged it on longer and cost everyone injuries." |
