🪶┊Worm Wood's Pack Lore┊🪶
Worm Wood is not pack that goes back for generations. This friendly pack started with our beloved Bugger! Bugger's parents were a pair of lone wolves that liked to travel. He was a one pup litter, but his parents raised him with care and adored their little son. Once Bugger was 11 months old, he decided he wanted to separate from his parents, as the lifestyle they lived was not something that felt fulfilling enough for him. Bugger wanted to live a pack life, he wanted to build relationships and be surrounded by a giant group full of his friends and wolves he cared for, he aspired to lead and organize a large group of his own some day. His parents were sad to see their baby boy go, but they understood it was "time to let their little buggy boy spread his wings." They sent him off on his journey, teary-eyed, tails wagging side to side reassuringly. With that, Bugger bid farewell to his parents and went on his way!
As Bugger made his way through the mountains, all he could find were wolves from other packs, scouts, hunting groups, some were challengers who thought he was a threat. Some friendly packs took him in, told their stories and listened to his own, fed him and offered herbs and other sorts and he'd be off on his way again in 1-2 days, always thankful for the generosity. One wolf in particular he came across was a tan, light brown back, orange eyed wolf who claimed he was out scouting for a nearby pack. He said his name was Oak, patted Bugger on the back and basically said "Tough luck bud, good luck though!" and pranced away, leaving Bugger with an earring with a blue feather on it as a parting gift. He was confused by the other wolf's sudden gesture of kindness, as he was gone just as fast as he had arrived. Bugger had a feeling this wouldn't be the last time he'd be seeing this Oak again, though. As he continued on his path he saw a lone, white wolf through the nettle and trees carrying a hare in her mouth. The wolf had golden eyes, brown tips on parts of her fur, making her seem almost dirty looking but clean at the same time. He made desperate attempts to talk to her, but she ignored him, continuing on her way as she was, but he refused to give up. He pestered her and stayed persistent until she finally gave in and snapped at him, asking what he wanted. He explained his goal and aspirations to start his own pack and asked for her name. She thought it was dumb, and explained that her name was Dandruff and not "Miss," and moved on, continuing to ignore him, annoyed by his "audacity." He was not going to let up though. He struggled this far to find an opportunity, and wasn't going to let this go. He followed her around from dawn to dusk, talking and talking until she finally she snapped. She flipped around and bared her teeth at him, saying she'd follow him if he would finally shut his muzzle. He happily agreed and danced circles around her. They then found a safe place to sleep for the night, and in the morning they'd be on their way again.
After about a month of hopping packs that took them in for a night or two, and lots of instances where Dandruff tried to leave and had Bugger on the ground practically hugging her legs as she tried to walk away begging her to come back, Dandruff started to come around to Bugger, though she thought he was overbearing, annoyingly witty and flirted WAY too much, she came around to him. Soon enough she started helping round up wolves and convincing them to join their pack. Soon they had two, then three, five, six wolves. Bugger organized a hunting team made up of Dandruff, who was the lead, Cap, Sapir, Fog, and Pitch, and then assigned Tagalong as a scout. Though they were somewhat organized, they needed a place to stay. Luckily, Bugger's parents were travelers, and he spent his childhood traveling! Bugger knew exactly where he wanted to bring and raise his pack, and that is where we call Worm Wood today. Hopefully healthy and successful for generations to come, being good allies with their neighboring pack down the hill, Mammoth Spring.
