"Dragons can abandon their nests for many reasons, some species aren't supposed to hatch with parents present like turtles, mostly it's because they feel threatened, or they're somehow displeased with the eggs, or they think the nest/eggs have been tampered with, or they just don't want to raise hatchlings." Tsunami said, nuzzling a tiny dark blue dragon who had sidled closer to her.
''I see... I hope I didn't disturb the nest,'' Scouty said, looking at the ground kind of sadly. ''That being said, what do you think will happen to the egg?''
Scouty sighed with relief, glad to know she had not taken any baby from its mother. She tilted her head. ''Can you tell me more about fire dragons?''
Scouty was the type that wanted to learn everything she could. Everything she came across, she wanted to soak in the info like a sponge and save it in that incredible mind of hers. Being a scout had been her life's dream and now that she was one, she was very adventurous and curious, loving to learn about anything.
"Well, most dragons come in four categories. Dragons: four limbs plus wings, wyverns: two limbs plus wings, drakes:four limbs, no wings, and wyrms: No limbs, though occasionally wings. Fire dragons are usually able to breathe fire or have some other sort of fire-related power, their scales are warm colors and they live in warmer places for the most part." Tsunami explained thoughtfully.
Scouty quieted down, looking at Tsunami with big eyes, and she would not say anything anymore. She was just obsessively listening, hoping that she would hear so much about dragons that she could learn and she was still, listening. ...She even sat down.
"There are so many different types of dragons, it's hard to summarize them all. If you want, I could show you some of mine." Tsunami said, watching the little green wyvern snuggle deeper on Sylvia's shoulder with a grin.
Sylvia was still staring with big eyes, and it didn't seem she was even blinking. She was just... staring, refusing to move. She would NOT wake the dragon. She would NOT wake the dragon. She would NOT-
Scouty, on the other hand, wasn't really noticing anything and stood up again.
Something told Dahlia that when Scouty was a pup, she must've been the best student in all of her classes.
