Lands of Konran (W.I.P)

If the Yama Pack is very close to their ancestors then perhaps the Numachi Pack could be the opposite (bc yama=mountains which is north, and numachi=swamp/marsh which is south, so they're opposites) They'd believe in the ancestors' existence, but they're the most skeptical and challenging of any prophecies or signs because to them the ancestors are just dead wolves. Here's an idea for Numachi pack: The Numachi territory stretches over a wide piece of marshland, swamps, and waterways. The wolves here have become accustomed to the mud-covered, semi-aquatic lifestyle and are highly skilled predators both in and out of the water. They compete for food with alligators/ crocodiles that inhabit the area... it's not uncommon for wolves to be missing a limb or tail after encountering these giant reptiles. Thankfully, after generations of feuding with the gators and crocs, they have learned how to properly fight them off and essentially dominate the water. The Numachi Pack has made a skill of killing, skinning, and eating the predators. The hides are often used for camouflage when swimming and hunting as they are less likely to be noticed by other gators or crocs, potential prey, or enemy wolves. Numachi camp is nestled in a massive, ancient, hollow cypress tree (Ancient Swamp Tree BG). It sits on the edge of a small island to protect the pack from threats. Half of the tree's roots are exposed and expand into the murky water, creating a protected cove inside the tree for wolves to swim up to. (Spies in this territory would face the challenge of avoiding swamp predators, concealing their muddy tracks, and swimming. A determined spy may be able to walk on top of fallen tree trunks, leap from rock to rock, or steal a reptile skin to swim in.) Personality-wise the Namachi wolves have a lot of rough-edges.They often have sarcastic, dry senses of humor, and are all realists, as opposed to optimistic or pessimistic. Plus, they have no qualms about starting meaningless fights and ruffling feathers because they finish them just as quickly. As the saying goes, 'The Namachi will be at your throat during sunrise, but by your side come sunhigh." - Meaning that they don't hold grudges, they're just all chaotic lol. They also rely heavily on physical communication and are commonly found tackling, shoving, or play-biting their packmates. The pack values family and have a tight-knit, over-protective culture. They rarely accept outsiders, and it's even rarer that an outsider survives a day in their swamp. Some background for my Numachi alpha. Kian has been alpha for nearly two years, at the age of just over four years he's been leading the Numachi for more than half his life, and he was training to lead them for the first two years of his life anyway. He's one of the youngest sons of the former alpha pair and was given the same advanced training that all his siblings were given. When his parents passed, first his mother from 'accidental' drowning and then his father from old age, Kian was quick to challenge his eldest two siblings for the role. Using his cunning mind and arsenal of experience in battle he won, killing a brother who would not submit and chasing off a sister who knew she had lost. Kian rules the Numachi pack quite casually despite his bloody rise to the top. His bloodlust and anger are tied to his ambition for the pack to thrive. Not only would Kian die for his pack, he'd kill for them too. He's a talented politician, especially when he's handling the other alphas in the region. He's been known to pit the other packs against each other to divert unwanted attention off of any questions the Numachi don't want to answer. (He is more honest and forthcoming with the other alphas when his pack is in danger.) As a fan of playing the long game, his favorite strategy is to wait and see how events unfold before taking action, but he physically can't pass up an opportunity to get ahead. (I swear he's way more of a chill cutie-pie than he sounds like, he's just got skeletons in his closet.) And let me drop this kiddo here: Numachi pup -> wolvden.com (He's the son of Baby's expecting mother) |

Who lol - Kian or the pup? Kian's parents were the former alpha male and female of Numachi. And the unnamed pup is going to be one of @Baby's pregnant female's puppies. |

OOOH, I had an idea for the Heiya! So their powers are mainly speedy-ness, invisibility, and shapeshifting. The first thing that comes to mind for me is that they would be either kinda flighty and nervous, or sneaky. I'm leaning towards the flighty side, because if they got frightened they would probably just jump six feet in the air(lul scaredy wolves[ and when I say six feet I don't mean that literally]) and turn into a bird, or go invisible until they figured out what scared them. They could also be sneaky ninja people, like using their invisibility to spy on others as well. :P Well, that's what came off the top of my head. |
