Dipping back into his breakfast, shortly he had his fill and pulled the remains aside. He idly chewed on a hoof before getting antsy. He needed to be out again, the den was cramped with another wolf. "I'm going to head out now. I don't really care if you follow but.." He huffed as he gathered some rolled up bark for forage string, "I wont be back for a while."

She walked to where she buried the rabbit ear earlier, she dug a small hole right next to the rabbit ear's hole. She dropped it in, covered it, bowed and murmured. She stood and trotted over to him "lead the way" she hesitated "alpha" she said sarcastically with a grin

"Fine but keep up, I-" He stuttered when she called him an alpha and felt a strange warmth flood to his cheeks. Biting his tongue back, the male snapped his mouth shut and quickly turned. No comment. Leading Claw through the mountains, he quickly relaxed. The birds chittered above and mushrooms were full and plump against the pine trees. Arizona happily plucked the chicken of the woods down from the bark and tucked them away. He secretly liked to forage, despite his hunting nature.

Posted 2023-02-17 16:41:52 #957846 She kept up well and even pushed ahead a few times, she quickly followed suit and grabbed a chicken of the woods, she bit into it her head turned to the side "hm"she mumbled "could use some…" she tailed off. She looked around quickly "Ah!" She exclaimed walking over to a herb , she plucked a leaf and placed it on the mushroom then put the whole thing in her mouth "perfect!" She said happily. She grabbed a few more of the leaves of the mystery herb, she walked over and handed him one "try this" she said "it's called ravens feather, because it's dark and shaped like a feather!"  She seemed very excited, hopping from foot to foot

Posted 2023-02-17 18:20:17 #957972 The male watched Claw with a curious eye as she chomped down on the mushrooms. She had a lot of energy and he was slightly amused by this. Watching her bounce around he was glad it smelled clear around here or else she would give them both away. Giving a curious sniff to the dark fungi presented to him, he gingerly took it in his mouth and chewed. His eyes were closed as he took a moment to enjoy his snack. "Quite excellent. You have a keen eye, and you are rather... knowledgeable. I like that." He gently bumped her hip with his own as he continued into the woods, tail only slightly wagging. Coming across a large waterfall, Arizona set his supplies down and took off at a running start to the cool and clear waters, diving in with a large breath. Salmon swam around his head as he paddled to the surface, gasping as he broke the tension of the water. Giving his head a firm shake he looked at Claw to join him in a quick bath.

Posted 2023-02-17 18:26:41 #957978 She jumped in quickly "brrr!" She screeched "wow that's cold, but it feels good!" She said adjusting to the cool temperature. She swam under the water fall she hummed a gentle tone "come here Arizona! This feels nice." She said almost like a purr After a little while of swimming she made her way out and began grooming herself then she laid down to sunbath. The way the sun hit her fur she looked like she was glowing

Slowly stepping out of the water, Arizona was rather handsome as well. The weather showed on his form but the large male was sturdy and had a finely kept coat. "How long.. have you been without a pack?" He asked quietly as he lied down next to the female.

She flicked and ear "since I was weaned" she said bluntly " mother dropped me in the forest" anger tight in her voice "I found a coyote and she cared for me until I was an adolescent" she took a breath ridding herself of the pain. "What about you? Alpha Arizona, how long have you been without a pack?" She remembered his previous response to being called alpha and decided to use it to distract him

Posted 2023-02-19 12:58:52 #958998 Arizona felt a sadness sweep over him at her story. He lived with a cruel pack most of his life, but being abandoned at a young age.. "I am truly sorry. I hope you will find a path that suits you, blood pack or not." He impulsively nuzzled her cheek in respect. "I left as soon as I could, my blood pack was hateful and harsh. I may have picked up bad habits from them, but I snuck away as soon as I was old enough and have been wandering alone ever since." His head rested on his paws and he sighed, staring at the water lapping the edge of the river. With the sunlight shining on the male, he truly looked somber and most of all, lonely.

Posted 2023-02-19 13:35:29 #959052 She felt sorry for the poor wolf "that really sucks" she sighed "do you like your current living situation?" She asked curiously She got up and stretched "well let's keep moving" she said getting antsy "I don't like staying in bed me spit to long"  she walked a few steps ahead and turned to look at him, she admired his beauty for longer than she cared to admit. She blushed and turned walking a bit farther.
