I'd like to try to figure out more exact pass rates for Patches and Piebald since I see a lot of numbers thrown around, I think it will be useful to have something concrete! What I'm looking for… Breedings between: Patches x Piebald Piebald x Piebald of the same type Piebald x Piebald of different types Patches x Patches of the same type Patches x Patches of different types Piebald (any) x Wolf with no mutations Patches (any) x Wolf with no mutations I want your results even if you didn't get any piebald pups from the litter- that's how we'll make sure the numbers are accurate! How to share results… In order to ensure the most accuracy with data, there's a few requirements when you make a post: - Links to both of the parents - Exact list of all pups, with links if they're all still alive, letting me know if they have piebald/patches or not - The breeding must be RECENT, as in the pups are still nursing or pre-adolescence - Piebald/patches was NOT applied to any of the pups, and was applied to either parent BEFORE the breeding - Please do not share information just from breedings that resulted in piebald. I want to hear about breeding that gave no piebalds too. - If you used a Wolf Scrotum or Wolf Blood in the breeding, please include that in your post as that will skew your results. Reward? I thought I could make a sort of game from it.. So every 5 breeding results you provide will get you 1 GC! Again, recent breedings only please! These are the easiest for me to double check myself. Results I'm keeping track of everyone's results in two spreadsheets. This spreadsheet contains summarized results from every breeding. Here you will find general numbers for Piebald x Piebald, Piebald x Patches, etc. This spreadsheet contains all results in detail, with the exact mutation of the parents specified. Current percentages gathered from provided data are listed below. While these spreadsheets do provide percentages, please note that I would not consider the percentages close to an accurate pass rate until the breeding type has at least 1000 pups recorded. Piebald x Piebald of Same Type: 219 pups with 26.03% chance of piebald - much more data needed! Piebald x Piebald of Different Type: 126 pups with 3.97% chance of mother's piebald and 3.97% chance of father's piebald - much more data needed! Patches x Patches of Same Type: Not enough data Patches x Patches of Different Type: Not enough data Piebald x Patches: Not enough data Piebald x No Mutation: 1794 pups with 3.68% chance of piebald Patches x No Mutation: 141 pups with 5.67% chance for patches - much more data needed! |

Personal Spreadsheet This link shouldn't work for anyone else, it's just for me personally. ---------- Breeding 2: Bred Feb 22 Mom, Reed was an Uneven Piebald, and Dad, Nezumi was also an Uneven Piebald. They made 4 pups, all of whom were disappointments, I didn't keep any of them, but i promise you none of them had piebald and that the litter size was 4. Extensive records. Personal Spreadsheet --------- Breeding 3: Bred Mar 3 Mom, Soft,was a normie as far as mutations. Dad, Quinn, is Piebald: Torn 3 Pup litter, 2 blank, 1 Piebald: Torn. --- Breeding 4: Bred Mar 25 Mom, Mannequin, is blank on mutations, and Dad, Kiora, is Piebald: Torn. There were 4 pups, and none of them were pie. As of typing this, they are still nursing at 1M. They are links to the spreadsheet where I keep track of my breedings, to the specific place I logged this specific litter. ------------ Breeding 5: Bred Mar 26 Mom, Reed, is a Piebald: Uneven, and Dad, Ya Zi, is a Piebald: Torn. They had 5 pups. One was Piebald: Torn. The others were plain. All are still nursing at 1/2 month old. Firehouse (blank), Nuo (who I chased, also blank), Marmalade has Piebald: Torn! There was Native (who I also chased, blank), and Mystery, also blank. |

Mother x Father Gave birth on 3/24 to 4 pups, IDs: 7142686, 7142687, 7142688, 7142689 All No Pie - and sorry I already chased the two duddier ones I have an Uneven x Uneven pairing, they've bred only 2 times so far resulting in only 5 pups total, 2 being Uneven. Not sure if they're recent enough Uneven x Uneven Mother x Father First litter: Born on 2/17 to 2 pups: IDs: 6839667(Uneven Pie), 6839668 (no pie) Second Litter: Born 3/14 to 3 pups: IDs: 7052081(no pie), 7052082(Uneven Pie), 7052083(no pie) |

In order to provide completely unbiased samples, I'll send females to piebald studs from time to time and register pregnant wolves that have bred to these studs. This way, once they're given birth, I can share data about the litter that you may insert without any doubts. |
