The ways to make and keep money in this game:
Do snake and bear quests. But always limit how much you spend. 25sc or less for bear quests, as little as possible for snake quests.
Hunt, explore, scout, and forage as much as possible. Also play the fishing game. That will provide you with food, toys, and other items.
Sell wolves and items that you don't need.
Don't play gambling games like slots and raffles. Only enter the Lottery when the snake asks you to.
Don't keep too many wolves. You only need 5 hunters, 2 scouts, 1 herbalist, 1 lead, and maybe a pupsitter or two when you breed a wolf. Don't over-breed.
Don't buy stuff you don't need or get caught up in expensive cosmetic stuff for your wolves.

You can spend event currency to buy apps then sell them in the TC to other players for cones. Once you get some cones, you can invest them to buy assets for lower and sell them for higher. There are plenty of wolves and items that have high value, you can try setting up trades offering lower price, then re-sell them to multiply your cones.

I rarely have what she asks for either, but I buy them on the TC. The bear only gives you 25sc for each completed quest, no matter how much the pup is actually worth on the market. So it makes no sense to pay more than 25sc for a quest pup. A lot of players price fodder (potential quest) pups at 10sc, and assuming you can use three of those in a day, you'll net 45sc from all three completed quests for that day. If you do that every day, that money can add up quickly.

Oh, you can't base your purchases off of looks for a bear quest. You have to manipulate the search filters in order to find only the pups you need. I always start with age under 6 months and price under 25sc. That prevents youngsters who are too old or too expensive from popping up in my search results. Then I plug in what the bear wants, starting with the first quest option, which is usually the easiest. If nothing comes up for that one, I move on to the next and maybe the next also. If I can't find anything for all three quest, I use a common toy to skip and get a new set of quests.
