Biography
starter wolf
Venus is cute and anxious. Essex's little flower. He'll murder you if you talk to her.
Maybe they could be like the bossy older sibling?? And maybe if you could make him follow along on hunts, and I would like of there is a part that while hunting, romsn Freckles thinks he is already skilled enough but he got bit by a snake in the desert and my other wolf, akela helps get the snake off of him? Idk it's kinda just whatever you think is good.
roman creeping behind mosspelt, omen, and akela
wondering why he has to follow pointless instructions
told to stay high and watch their technique
runs off ahead
chooses wrong prey
moves before others
fails hunt
prey attacks
omen drives it off
Akela yells at roman
angry roman runs off
hides under rock overhang
gets bit
Akela comes to rescue
meet back up with mosspelt and omen
head back home
Crouching low, you silently follow the swaying tail just a few paces in front of you; your eyes never leaving it. This was your first hunt and exhilaration and excitement filled your body with electricity. This was your chance to finally be recognized for your talent! You would help bring down tonights prey and you could walk back to the pack with your head held high and everyones amazed gazes watching you. The sudden pause in the wolfs gait in front of you broke you out of your vivid daydream. Akela stood as stiff as a bone, crouching low, and giving the air a testing sniff. His nose wriggling furiously as he tried to work out the map of scent everywhere, which you found rather comical, even if you would never mention it out loud. You watch him as he makes a slow circle around the desert track you were on. With a final satisfied sniff, he walks back to you, taking care with every step to be as silent as possible. He beckons with his tail and two more wolves walk up beside you. MossPelt and Omen, the other two hunters. As they approach and tuck down on either side of you, Akela bends in with a husky whisper. "The herds just on the other side of the ridge. I count five total, with a lame one; an injured front hoof. Its on the outskirts of the herd but if we hold back a little while longer, it'll tire itself out trying to keep up with the others." The others nod their heads in silent understanding. Meanwhile your tail starts to wag ever so slightly. This was it! Now you would help bring down your first prey, and it was a full grown donkey! One of the largest animals your pack hunted! everyone would remember this for sure! Akela continued on. "Mosspelt, you'll show yourself to get the herd moving, you flank them and make sure they stay on course following along the ridge." Akela turned to Omen before continuing. "Omen and I will keep them moving until they start to tire, then I'll go in for the kill. Roman Freckle, you go up to the top of the ridge. Its a high vantage point, so you'll be able to watch all of our moves through the hunt. Pay attention to everyones positions. you might have to tag along with someone for your next training session." Confusion and disappointment both hit you like a strong kick to the gut. Your brows furrowed as you pieced together what he meant. "Wait... I'm not gonna join you guys in the hunt?" You could see Akela trying to hold in a smile, which slightly annoyed you. "Good heavens no!" he chuckled. "This is your first time tagging along on a hunt. You don't even know all the hunting positions, let alone bringing down one of our largest prey animals. Donkeys can, and have, killed wolves with a single kick, even lame ones. You'll stay atop the ridge, watching how we perform each of our moves. you'll join us after the preys down." You opened your mouth to protest, anger bubbling up, before you were interrupted with a nudge from behind. "Go on, don't keep us waiting. The herd might sense us if we stay grouped together in one place for long." Mosspelt huffed as he gave you another push with his muzzle toward the ridge top. Clamping your mouth shut, you stalk off toward the ridge, a furious glare on your face. Not only were your plans of bringing down a large animal on your first hunt dashed, Akela obviously believed you were completely incapable and would only be a burden! Stuck waiting for the adults to do all the work. By the time you take your position on the top, you already spot the herd on the move, slightly alarmed by the sight of a wolf in the distance. You watched Mosspelt make a wide berth, forcing the donkeys to follow along the ridge to stay ahead of him. They were just below you, so close you could smell their dusty scent, and even see the limp in the lame ones gait. It would be so easy..to just... run down and cut them off. They would never see you coming from this hight, at least not until it was too late. It would be so simple! Just run down and blindside it. You could prove all three of them wrong, not only that, you could do it all by yourself! Bringing back prey that you had taken down all on your own, it sounded even better than your previous ideas of fame! But...Akela might be angry. He might punish you by keeping you home for the next hunt, or even the hunt after. But that all would be worth it right? Worth it for showing the whole pack that you could do anything! Surprisingly you didn't have to debate on the matter much longer. Your paws seemed to have made the decision for you as you suddenly find yourself careening down the steep slope. You could see the injured target right in your line of sight, but something kept pulling your eyes toward the others. This one was injured and weak, about to die anyways after the herd abandoned it. But the pack deserved fresh, young meat, from a thriving animal! Suddenly, without much thought, you found yourself changing course, aiming for one of the young adults. Your heart started hammering in your chest, you could almost feel yourself biting down on the neck of the donkey. You could feel their running hoofbeats thrumming in the ground, and hear their snorting.
