Biography
Sabrae
"The one who takes a sorrowful journey within herself."
Hunter - Stalker
Adventurous Personality (Friendly)
Pair Bonded with no one.
Sabrae arrived within the Tundra late one evening and came across a herd of caribou. However, she did not notice the pack that was lingering nearby. Once she was aware of their presence she hesitantly approached them and was met with hunger-driven wolves. Sabrae quickly offered her help to the pack as an experienced stalker which they eagerly accepted.
She wasn't sure how long she'd be with the pack but Sabrae was determined to help them while she could.
Pack Joining Log
Sabrae joined the Alhavenlan Pack on 7/28/2023.
Day 1, Attempt 1(7/22): Rolled a Nat 20! 1 Success for Sabrae!
Almost immediately, Sabrae got to work tracking down the nearby herds and worked to lead Team 2 directly to them. Sure the hunting team was a bit slow and clearly exhausted from their previous hunts but Sabrae was determined to help them catch something. Anything to get these wolves back on the right track.
Day 2, Attempt 2(7/23): Rolled a 7. 1 Failure for Sabrae.
After pushing Team 2 for two weeks now, Sabrae nearly considered herself one of the packmembers until she was snarled at by Irosylis and forced her away from the pack's meal. Even though the pack has started to look better, they've begun acting defensively now that their alpha female is expecting pups. Sabrae takes the hint and hangs back, observing the pack and joining Team 2 whenever they set off to hunt.
Day 3, Attempt 3(7/24): Rolled a 17. 2nd success for Sabrae.
Sabrae's been maintaining a distance from the pack and only approached the carcasses after everyone has ate their fill. Shortly afterward though, Irosylis and Seranni walked over to her as Irosylis held a small meatchunk in his mouth. He set it on the ground before nudging it towards the hungry wolf saying he apologized for snarling at her a few weeks ago. Sabrae appreciated the kind gesture and happily accepted both his apology and the food offering. She still kept her distance from the pack as they now had a proper den for Seranni but she was starting to feel like she belonged finally.
Day 4, Attempt 4(7/25): Rolled a Nat 20! 3rd success for Sabrae.
Day 5, Attempt 5(7/28): Rolled a 18. 4th success for Sabrae.
Sabrae has officially joined the pack! Welcome to the Alhavenlan Pack, Sabrae!
And for years after, she lead a happy life. Full of struggles, sure, but surrounded by companions she had grown to know as family. She even had a mate from whom she had 2 pups, Lauma and Nymisa. However, it didn't take long for her mate to disappear and her packmates began to wither away before her eyes. Famine had taken hold many winters, but never as bad the 7th winter of Sabrae's life.
She had to choose between loyalty & starvation or betrayal & survival. She chose the one that gave her children a future. So they traveled south, farther from the land of her birth pack in which she wants to avoid.
The end of winter nears as they get farther south. The desperate mother manages to find enough small game to feed her growing pups, ones who should be a few months older if it weren't for their unusually late conception. So keeping them well fed is all the more important, and protecting them from predators the more difficult. But Sabrae herself was on the brink of starvation until the remains of a bison kill were found.
This made her take pause; they must have entered another pack's territory. She can smell their faint scents all around. Luckily faint enough that she feels comfortable finishing off their kill, her children happily joining. This would sustain them for now, but perhaps it might be worth it to search for this pack before the winter's end. Especially since she knows her days are numbered. She doesn't know how many weeks, months, perhaps years she has left, but she can feel her strength dwindling. She doesn't have enough energy to provide and teach her pups who were nearly yearlings, and certainly not enough time.
