Rainfrost was an imaginative little girl who loved to wonder what was around every corner. She might tell her sister and cousins that a cryptid was hiding just behind the Clinic cave or a giant bear was swimming in the creek. Maybe she saw the ghost of a past Alpha walk by the opening of the Nursery den while everyone else was asleep. Or the big rock on the other side of the meadow was really a human machine in disguise. None of these tales were true of course, but that didn't stop Rain from amusing everyone with them day after day. Her mother was especially charmed by her little storyteller's claims and would make time to listen to her whenever she was home from scouting.
At the Academy, Rain was assigned to study wisdom, speed, and strength to improve her weakest stats. She was an average student, not excelling in any particular subject. But after class was when she came alive. She made up stories and songs constantly with never a dull moment. Her teachers wished that she brought that much energy to her lessons, but everyone appreciated her creativity. Her mother was still her biggest fan though, and when the pupsitters recommended Rain for a scout role, Butter was quick to claim her as her apprentice. Rain didn't seem to mind the decision being made for her. She was too busy making up stories about a nearby rabbit warren.
During her apprenticeship, Rain went with her mother on scouting trips and found that making up stories wasn't always appropriate. Her fibs and fables sometimes frightened or offended members of other packs and Butter had to scold her more than once to keep these things to herself. God-worshippers were especially sensitive regarding their beliefs and Rain was sent to sit outside a den once while her mother apologized for her nonsense. Later, Butter explained to Rain that while making up stories was fun and amusing at home, it had no place in scouting. Scouting was about finding and reporting the truth. She would have to find a healthy outlet for her creativity. To that end, Butter pushed Rain towards Herbalist Emberwisp, curator of the pack's written story archive. A storyteller should also be a story lover, Ember said, and Rain certainly was. It wasn't long before Rain was an apprentice librarian as well as a scout.
On her first birthday, Rain was almost late to the party because she was reading over her favorite Nursery tales and lost track of time. Those days of cuddling with her sister and cousins listening to stories seemed so far away now and she was sad to leave them behind. But she must move on, life never stops.
Now as an adult, Rain still loves stories and never fails to record the best ones for the library. Under her management, the library has expanded to include stories from other packs as well, much to the delight of pups who come to the Academy from all over the lands. Rain's love of stories has helped her develop into a respected scout as well, as other packs have come to appreciate her interest in their lore and current events. If some drama occurs in a neighboring pack, Rain can be counted on to know all the backstory. She always has a great story picked out for the pups every day, and another racier one to tell the adults over a fermented barley.
