Role – Mentor

Eagle had always loved his role as finisher but well, the pack needed a new mentor and it was Eagle's time to take on that role. That's fine, he was getting old and found himself getting more often than not being injured on hunts, being a mentor was a nice retirement of sorts.

Eagle and Cloud have been friends for a long time now. The two initially bonding over their shared job of finishers, they found they began to enjoy each others company. Nowadays, they are very close friends, spending a lot of free time together.


History

Eagle was born to Cacao and Topaz alongside his littermate Elk. The pack took an interest in Eagle and his sister from a young age. After all, one of them was going to be their next leader. Eagle frankly didn't care if he was or wasn't picked. He knew his worth and being leader wouldn't change that. He did have to admit that all the attention was nice, however.

Jet chose his air the day before the pups officially became adolescents. Eagle wasn't surprised or disappointed when his sister got chosen. He had noticed Jet had been giving Elk way more attention than he was Eagle. Not that Eagle cared, over this time he had begun to take an interest in hunting, more specifically finishing. He was admittedly glad he wouldn't need to worry about the stress of being leader, and instead could spend his days hunting.

Eagle enjoyed his training, and by the time he reached adulthood he had almost perfected his abilities. Or at least, he believed he had almost perfected them, always the overly confident sort. He was certainly a skilled finisher, not that his pack would ever say it out loud. Eagle had a big enough head as is.

Eagle didn't care to take a mate, or to have pups. He would leave all that legacy business to Elk. He liked the company of his family and friends and didn't see how taking a mate would benefit him in any way.

Loosing your parents is always hard, losing the both in the span of one month is even worse. Eagle however, had always been the strong sort and he grieved in a gentler way than most. Instead, Eagle spent his time assisting his sister in her duties. He knew how stressed she was being leader, trying to lead and grieve at the same time must have felt impossible. Elk was grateful for her brother's assistance, which he saw as unsurprising. He was amazing after all.

When Orange passed, Eagle knew it was his time to take on the role of mentor. He doesn't hate the job, though, he would be lying if he didn't admit he missed being a chaser. Still, he isn't as young as he used to be and the role as mentor is a nice retirement for the wolf.

On the 7th year and 6th month of his life, Eagle made his way to the mountains summit. Caribou, and Elk keeping him company through most of the journey. Once at the top, looking out at the endless sky, Eagle was greeted by his parents, Cacao and Topaz, who gently guided him to the afterlife.
