Dima

All Dima knew was that he was one of three in his litter born to Sun Kiss who had nursed them on stories of the world and the places she'd traveled to. He and his brothers had all been star touched, Shichiro having the same bright blue nose as he and Erhard having bright eyes that glowed like stars. These traits they had inherited from Sun Kiss who herself had been touched by the stars. Sun Kiss was approached by a wolf from her home pack and Erhard, entranced by the stories he'd heard of Sun Kiss's home, left the Starshade Pack to live with Queen's Kennel. Shichiro and Dima continued to grow up together and soon the time came to train in pack roles. What might my role be? Dima wondered as he tried each of the roles before him. Shichiro was a natural finisher, hunting small game like rabbits and squirrels faster than many of the pups his age. Dima was jealous as he watched. Nothing seemed to click for him. He finally decided that he would follow in his mother's footsteps and explore the world for himself. Perhaps he would see Sun Kiss again in his travels. Most of all he hoped he could learn more about himself and what his role would be in this large world he was about to explore.

It was summer and Dima found himself in another unfamiliar territory. The weather was hot and the young wolf was looking for some source of water to help his thirst. His nose led him to a small mountain stream. There were a lot of yellow flowers growing near it.
After taking a drink, he lay down among them to rest. It felt like a moment but when he woke up, he felt the change in the air. Something strange, like a hidden presence. Beside that, he felt a weight on his head.
Puzzled, he looked at his reflection in the water. Someone put a tansy crown on his head! He looked around confused but there was no one nearby. Only two young bluejays were sitting on a branch nearby, making chirps similar to laughter.
He shrugged his shoulders. The heatwave was slowly turning into a pleasant summer day. He moved on.

Lore (feel free to write anything; optional but encouraged!) : LOREDima wasn't quite sure where he was headed. The tunnels he had ended up in were long, and damp. He thought he smelt the scent of other wolves down here, but that seemed to be wrong. but..

Bigger issue: He got lost in these tunnels. He doesn't know how, or why. He felt like he had to go down, but there was no reasoning. And now he was in trouble. No matter how hard he tried to retrace his steps, he got even deeper. And one more pawstep ahead, and he dropped.

When he landed, he landed in a feathered bed, and when he looked up, two soft eyes blinked at him. "Oh? Welcome! Good thing you didn't get in through the main entrance, Maki wouldv-" "Is that another wolf?" "...Oh great Founder-.."

Dima blinked, clearly confused by the situation. The pair started arguing, and Dima left.He tripped over a small, very young pup with blackj and white eyes, with a painted back and a yellow coat. "OOh, Are these the travelers Shuichi told me about? Well, Welcome!" The pup gleefully cheered, with a smile.

Lore : Dima continued on his travelers when he stumbled on a part of the forest that looked familiar. He knew the scents and knew the trees very well. A rush of energy ran through his veins as he ran through the trees to say hello to his home pack. Deep in the heart of the deciduous forest, where the trees grew so thick not even starlight shines through. That is home to Dima. He greeted Merida delightedly and the alpha of Starshade pack wagged her tail for him upon his return. On his first night home, Dima stayed up a bit later so he could watch the lunar creatures out and about around his home. He saw a growth deer for the first time and followed it into the woods a little ways, just watching the spores on its antlers glow in the night. Dima missed being able to see his own nose glow in the darkness. He recognized the glow of another packmate and was greeted by
Flamestripe.
"I couldn't sleep. The pups are wigging," she remarked softly, gesturing to her enlarged belly.
"Then watch the growth deer with me. We can pass the night together," Dima offered, laying beneath the tree where he stood. Flamestripe joined him, careful not to harm the pups as she lay, and just watched silently.
"Thank you. It's funny to see how much you've grown up. You were just a pup when I last saw you. Please continue to enjoy your journey and don't ever forget your home," Flamestripe hummed softly. The two both sat pleasantly, waiting out the night watching all the glowing phenomena of the lunar creatures that roam around the Starshade Pack.

Lore: On Dima's trek through unknown lands, a delicious scent of elk meat tickled his nose. A heartbeat later, his stomach rumbled in response, the traveler's hunger urging him to go forward. As the smell grew closer and closer, so did the scents of unfamiliar wolves. In the blink of an eye, he saw a hunting party consisting of five wolves dragging a freshly-killed elk. The leader of the group, a large dark brown wolf, approached Dima, asking him about his whereabouts. Dima introduced himself as a traveler, to whom the stranger responded with a polite nod, saying that he went by the name of Santiago. Then, he introduced the members of his hunting party, one by one. Unfortunately, all Dima could listen to was the pitiful sound of his own empty belly.
Noticing the wanderer's troubles, the hunter offered that he could join them and head to their pack, the Northgardian Pack, for a quick meal. Dima eagerly agreed and followed in a brisk pace. Thankfully, even the leader of the pack, Freya, seemed friendly and optimistic about letting a journeying wolf feast with the rest of Northgard. For the rest of the day, Dima chatted and ate with the other pack wolves as if they were old friends of his.
Dima stayed for a few more days, exchanging tales and legends with his new companions. He especially became curious about the rich fauna that flowered and bloomed in the land, spending more and more time prodding the pack's herbalist, a silver wolf named Silas, for information. Although he seemed grumpy and displeased with the sudden attention, he grew meeker and meeker as the days rolled by.
When the leaves started to turn golden and brown, Dima took that as his cue to leave. He shared his good-byes with the pack and headed wherever his paws led him.

Lore : After traveling for what felt like a very long time, Dima began to notice he was hungry and tired. It was hard to find food out in the harsh winter and he was struggling to keep up the energy to pursue prey at all. He spotted a hare in the snow and jumped toward it, but his hunger made his muscles weak and he tripped and fell face first in the snow. He grumbled and got up weakly, knowing the hare was gone by now, and kept walking toward some trees that might bring him some shelter and respite. After taking a few shaky paw steps, Dima felt himself collapse to the ground and everything went black. He remembered nothing else beyond that point.

Dima blinked his eyes open, dazed and confused. The mouthwatering scent of fresh kill hung just before him and he noticed two hares and a squirrel had been left by his head. He couldn't see any other creature nearby, however. He weakly sat up to take a hare and felt leaves and moss beneath his pelt. Something had even made a makeshift bed for him. He was too hungry to wonder whether eating the hare was a bad idea and before he knew it, all three rodents had been consumed. He was beginning to feel better already.

"Feeling better? Glad to see you're awake," an echoing female voice remarked. Dima instantly knew it was a lunar wolf. A moment later a cnitharian wolf walked into view, a lunar pheasant at her side. The pheasant dropped some herbs and seed before Dima and the wolf dropped another hare. "Eat these. You need your strength," she directed.

"Thank you," Dima replied, doing as he was told. His head had stopped pounding and he could think more clearly now too.

"The winter moons are tough, you passed out from hunger and exhaustion. Luckily I recognized you from when you were a pup growing up in Starshade. Your home is not far. Once you are ready, you should visit," the cnitharian wolf remarked. She gave a smile and a nod. "The sun is rising, I must be on my way." With that both she and the pheasant walked past a tree and were gone from Dima's sight. It was getting lighter in the trees and Dima felt willing to try to stand. He was shaky, but not unstable. He move slowly in the direction of the home he recognized, ready for some much needed rest before preparing to travel again.

Lore : Dima arrived to see so much hustle and bustle going on. It seems the pack had just got done moving to the desert. But some of the pups and even adults couldn't handle it. Having been from the mountains and colder regions. So once again they were attempting a move. Dima couldn't handle all the commotion and decided it best to head out after staying a little bit.
