Alone and whimpering under an oak near the clearing, it had been サボテン Saboten who found the young pup while scouting and brought them back to the pack. When asked how'd they gotten there they said their mother had left them under the tree.
"She said to wait there while she went hunting."
But two nights had passed and she had never come back.
Listening, サボテン Saboten understood what had happened. Winter had been hard this year, the pack had probably kicked her and her pup out in order to have enough food. She had scented their pack near the clearing and told the young pup to wait there, hoping that they'd take pity on the pup and take them in. She had abandoned them because she knew she would've been a burden if she had stayed. It was less likely they both would be taken in as an adult wolf needed much more food than a pup, especially one who needed to produce milk.
It had been the hardest type of love, it was sacrifice, it was a true mother's love. Now spring was in full, with hyacinths blooming all over the mountain. サボテン Saboten decided that the purple flowers with their meaning "please forgive me" seemed fitting and so named them 風信子 Fūshinshi, after the flowers they had been found among.
Yellow Zircons are also commonly known as Hyacinths.


-風信子 Fūshinshi tried her new skills on real prey today. It worked with other pups earlier, but it won't always be so easy.

-灰色熊 Hai-iroguma's skill definitely showed much improvement after the lesson today. 風信子 Fūshinshi didn't hear anything and let out a surprised bark when 灰色熊 Hai-iroguma jumped at her after sneaking up behind her.

-風信子 Fūshinshi caught sight of a bushy gray tail darting under a bush and acted quickly under 苔原 Kokehara's watchful gaze. She only managed to catch a clump of gray fur from the squirrel, but her speed was improving!

風信子 Fūshinshi is stretching and lifts their bum with their tail raised high right in your face as you walk by. Subtle!
