Biography

Curling himself around the small, mewling gold pup, Ren's golden eyes darted about nervously. She was so frail, weak. He was frail and weak too, but he wasn't on the cusp of death.
Glancing back down at the pup's form, his mind changed. No, she wasn't frail or weak. She was strong. Fierce. The pup couldn't be more than a month old, and she was fighting off death itself. Although young, she was already stronger than he was. Admiration shone in his eyes for the ball of fur pressed against him.
"Maybe I can't be as strong as you, but I'll help you win this fight." He stated determinedly. Throughout the night, he tended to her, although the pup's fate was uncertain and not looking for the better.

About a month later, the pup was on her paws. Ren had named her Elena, and viewed her as the daughter he never had. His golden eyes watched the petite pup ahead of him. Rambunctiously, she bounded over a log, landing on the hollow object. She flashed her father a grin.
"Look Papa!" Elena said with a puff of pride on her small chest. "I'm queen of the forest!"
He let out a small chuckle. She always seemed to beam with light, or with arrogance. Regardless, he loved her nonetheless.
"Oh Elena." He shook his head amicably. "You need to take it easy. You're strong, but still recovering. You don't want to hurt yourself, or else you might never be able to do things the other wolves can."
She seemed to heed his advice, and she gently dropped down from the log. Making her way to her adoptive father's side, they walked quietly for a while. Elena's blue eyes were downcast, and she finally spoke up.
"Alright. But I'm going to become the best hunter this pack has ever seen when I do get better!" She claimed, a fiery determination in her eyes, and her tail wagging ferociously.
Ren smiled, the reply coming naturally. "Of course you will."
And he didn't doubt it.

Ren is a very fatherly wolf, and the eldest of the pack during Camellia's time. He was around 2 years and four months when he joined the Kohana pack. An experienced pupsitter, he is entrusted with the hardest cases of the pack, whether it be behavior-wise or health-wise. Ren never has failed a pup, or parent, and is friends with all of them. He also enjoys writing and was often found leaving heartfelt notes to his daughter Elena.
His miraculous care for Elena's unlikely recovery has made him somewhat of a legend in the pack, even after his passing. Pups who have recovered from an uncertain future are often told they have been given "Ren's blessing," which often confuses newcomers or visitors.
Ren, however, had a relatively normal life before joining the Kohana Pack. He wasn't anything special, and he knew that from the way his father favored his four elder brothers. Although born to the alpha of a pack, Ren was just treated like another hunter or standard-ranking member. His mother turned a blind eye to this, seemingly uninterested in the lives of her pups and more interested in keeping the lower ranks of the pack in order.
Ren didn't hate this sort of lifestyle, he was rather content with it, but he knew there was something better. He wasn't abused or mistreated, just seemingly forgotten about. He had other friends in the pack, but he desired something better. He lived like this around for two years before deciding to leave.
So Ren set out on his journey, and a few months later, found Camellia. She was much younger than him, but certainly was in a worse situation. She explained it to him-- she had gotten into a fight with her mother and became severely lost. Having never been on her own, or done any work aside from herbalism, Camellia was struggling to survive.
Ren sympathized with her and offered to be her traveling partner, which Camellia eagerly accepted. He became a mentor of sorts, showing her how to hunt small prey or find a proper spot to make a temporary burrow. She thanked him profusely, and seemed indebted to the wise white wolf.
They had banded together for a while, and not long after, Kobyashi joined. When he went scouting, Camellia often went hunting, so Ren often went hunting in a different direction, hoping to bring back food as well.
While tracking a hare, Ren heard a peculiar squeaking, which diverted his attention. Alone but curious, he cautiously entered the clearing, where the noise was coming from. He scanned the area, his golden eyes falling on a burrow beneath a tree. The metallic scent of blood-- old but unmistakable-- caught his nose. His stomach churned anxiously.
Do I turn back? He thought nervously. But he heard the squeaking still, and couldn't bring himself to leave until he could aid whatever was making the helpless noise. Crouching and squeezing through the opening, he stumbled into what had probably been a lone wolf's den.
The noisemaker was a small, golden pup curled up next to what was undoubtedly her dead mother. Deep, raking claw marks were on the tan wolf's neck, and her blue eyes seemed to be half open. Ren backed up, terrified. The sight was eerie and just plain dreadful.
But the pup still squeaked, probably for food, next to her dead mother. Ren couldn't leave her there in good consciousness, and he slowly drew closer to the scene. Now he could tell the claws were from that of a bear, and he saw the blood was dry. No doubt she had been dead for a while.
"Oh little one." He soothed, nuzzling the gold pup's small form. "Let's put her to rest."
And so he did. Digging her a small grave in the clearing. WIP

=======================
Ren means, "Love of the Lotus" which is a reference to his friendly disposition and white coloring.
Ren is a very fatherly wolf, and the eldest of the pack.
He had a fairly normal past - dispersing at two years in an attempt to find his own pack, and he grew up under normal circumstances.
He is considered legendary for the reason that he was able to keep Elena alive, all her days, when he was new to the pupsitting practice. They now live together in a father-daughter relationship happily.
Upon his passing, Ren was buried by the riverbank, with honor and much love. Elena even left a small lotus upon his grave. The legendary pupsitter was beloved by all, and many strive to be like him- Even if they aren't pupsitters. He watches over Elena and Mokuzai, as well as their growing family. He guards the gates to the Dynasty Den, allowing only those permitted in. His earthly angel-like appearance is somewhat ironic, given his new job at the Dynasty Den, where now he is truly an angel. He awaits for the others to join him patiently, knowing he is the first to make it to the Dynasty Den but not the last. Until then, he watches over the pack with a smile, and protects them when he can.
