Biography
Retired on December 25th, 2023 
On a dark night during the 16th winter since the pack's founding, the clouds blocked what little light remained from the nearly new moon. But in this den, the royal bedchambers, none of the elements have much impact; a cave nestled in the rocks of a dormant volcano, a comfortable heat emanates and keeps the interior ice free. In a nest made of only the finest pelts and rarest feathers, Queen Aurora laid, with King Auspex close by her side. A few others gathered in the room; the herbalist, Lord Florian of House Empyrean, and the newly appointed Archpriest, Postulate II.
Over the course of a few hours, Aurora gave birth to five healthy pups. For the royal family, this was an unusually large litter. And much to her surprise, a sixth pup was soon delivered. Smaller, lighter of pelt, and, most notably, stillborn. This was a first for Aurora, and a very rare event in the pack overall. The Queen and King wept for their lost child, while Florian and Postulate tried their very best to revive the pup.
The efforts seemed futile, the pup refused to stir. King Auspex was the one to take the small pup's body out of the room, promising to perform the proper funeral rights with the Archpriest's help. So the two wolves marched out of the homesite and out into the bitter cold, snow quickly building up on their pelts. At the base of the nearby mountain, where a few other graves lay, the two dig a hole into the frozen ground. Auspex rarely cried, but he did in this moment. Postulate II provided little comfort, instead mumbling the funeral rights and nudging dirt back over the grave.
After Postulate finishes speaking, he begins a mournful howl, in which Auspex joins in. A layer of lichen is placed over the grave, and a smooth rock is left on top as a grave marker. Postulate soon took his leave, leaving Auspex to mourn for a few hours before returning to his mate.
For days the grave laid undisturbed, the King, Queen, and grown princes and princesses visiting at least once a day to pay their respects to the lost princess.But one day when they visited, the grave appeared dug up and the body missing with the others still untouched. They were furious, but unable to find the culprit. The grave was soon put back together to at least represent the ceremony, but the visits became few and far between.
What they didn't know, however, is that the reason the body was missing is that the pup was now alive. A large, pure white snake burrowed into the grave, biting into the body and releasing an unholy magic from their fangs. The still newborn pup yelped and gasps for air, and was pulled out of the grave by the snake using an unnatural amount of strength and precision.
Throughout the coming months, this snake raised the pup, giving her the name As'est. During this time, small As'est grew in strength and size at an unnatural speed due to the snakes unholy magics. He made promises of her gaining strength and power like she would never believe, and that she was the true heir to the Morrow's Peak Pack, upon which they would return when she was fully grown. According to this snake, the first born was betrothed to a wolf whom was a threat to their goals, and has been consorting with lunar influences; consorting with those whom he told her was at fault for her death at such a young age.
And sure enough, the snake lead her back to the pack on the day of her father's death, interrupting her sister's coronation. At first, her mother Aurora protested, but after hearing whispers from the snake… she knew this is what had to be done.
The hells had plans for As'est, whether she could comprehend them or not.
