Biography
Beginning
Dagger does not like to admit it, but she did not want to be a leader. She envied her first scouts, Tangerine and Dawn, for their freedom to explore the strange world they found themselves in as adults. The tall trees, howling of distant packs, and strange magic that inhabited the land with them.
The first night she was leader, Dagger could not sleep. So instead she stared up at the sky, hoping for guidance, though the only company she had were distant constellations. The stars may have glimmered and danced, but they were too far away to offer her any help.
Until she saw something looming. Grey, like her eyes, and watching. The moon. Yet it merely stared, a silent spectator to the rest of her days as leader. She'd been told, as a pup, that the moon was merely there to be the sun's nightly substitute. But in these lands, it seemed different. Perhaps the moon could be her guide in her first years as leader.
Dagger's suspicions about the moon being something more were confirmed, during the week of the first full moon. A gateway was opened, to a land of perpetual and beautiful night. That was where her pack pledged its loyalty to the moon, and whatever plan it--she--planned for Dagger's pack.
In those beginning years, Dagger felt as though the moon gifted her pack. First with Oracle's new eyes. which granted her a sight that was beyond other wolves. Then with the scout Silent, whose fur was the same lunar-grey as hers. Finally with Watcher, the second stud of the pack, who lived up to his name and solemnly observed, the same way as the moon did.
The pack lived in the forests, where prey was abundant and they grew. Dagger and Oracle had pups, new wolves joined the pack, and the scouts continued to find more new lands outside of their territory.
