Phi Leonis: White Lion of the White Mountains
With pale fur, pale skin and pale blue eyes, this feline is a rather strange looking animal. Some may even call her a ghost. Phi Leonis resides deep in the mountains near her father's territory. She lives far enough away that she has her own privacy, since she doesn't want her father or any other creature disturbing her. This interesting creature is one that is and isn't native to this land, thanks to her interesting heritage. Despite her slender build and medium length coat, this feline is no ordinary mountain lion.
Phi Leonis is of African lion descent. Surprisingly enough, her mother is a regular Timber wolf while her father is a large, white lion. What makes Phi Leonis different from other African lions is how nimble and strong she is despite being a lioness. In fact, she's stronger than the average lioness and her strength rivals that of the most aggressive lions in Africa. Her strength most likely came from her father, who is a leucistic lion like her. His strength is unnatural and is an innate ability as he's an immortal being in the form of a lion. Phi Leonis inherited his gift, which aids her on hunts or when climbing up mountains.
Despite her alien appearance to the native animals, Phi Leonis is rather friendly and amiable. She mainly eats carrion or hunts the old and injured, but she doesn't eat often. Phi does not wish to use up the natural resources in her territory, so she's often lazing around in humid caves to conserve energy. Phi Leonis often does this to avoid hunting until she is hungry enough, which is partly why she is slender.
The Legend of the White Lion
It is said that an elusive white lion roams the White Mountains, and is seen as a warning sign to hikers and natives. Usually, something catastrophic like a landslide or an avalanche happens within a few minutes after one crosses paths with the mountain lion. What humans don't know is that Phi Leonis predicts these disasters instead of causing them herself.
She will appear to locals in the affected area to scare them off with her presence in the hopes that they'll be able to escape in time before disaster strikes. Phi wasn't able to save everyone, however. People still got killed from these disasters, and she wasn't able to save them all in time. Her reputation as a bringer of chaos didn't help either, as some humans chose to actively try and hunt her.
Now, Phi Leonis lives high up in the mountains where no humans can reach her without using an aircraft. She hides away in a cave during the day, and only comes out at night to eat and occasionally sees how the nearest settlements are doing. All under the cover of darkness, of course. Otherwise, Phi Leonis has stopped helping humans completely and will avoid confronting them in fear she may end up as another trophy for a hunter.
