Biography
Mate of Nerra
Father of Aenni, Throvald, Dareni, Malren, Cejola, Lossa, Illkemia, Hetura, Siersi, Myrve, Dareni
Yrian came to the pack's lands at first hoping to charm away one of the many young she-wolves. He intended to be unseen by the pack's leader and scouts; he never intended on staying. He did not expect to find himself being the one charmed, by the lovely huntress by the name of Nerra. They met as she lingered around the hunting grounds after her young hunting party had made its first kill, confirming their places in the ranks of the pack's hunters. While the others were eager to return to the pack and celebrate their success, she sought a moment of peace and quiet.
Having watched her hunt, Yrian was already impressed by the she-wolf, but even more so was curious why she lingered behind. Carefully, he approached her, and found her welcoming to his bold approach. He was a stranger on her pack's territory; any moment, she could have called the alarm, and from what he had seen of this pack, they had impressive numbers. Though startled by his appearance, Nerra was not hostile by any means, rather she met him with quite a gentle greeting. She told him of her pack, who were blessed by gods and spirits, and how she was simply offering her thanks in an appropriate manner, as she began finding some stones and placing them as if to mark where the kill had been made, and then planted an acorn, an offering to their god of the hunt, explaining this god also was a protector of the forest. She stayed with Yrian for some time, telling him more and more stories of her pack and their ways. He was captivated by her gift for storytelling and her patience with his many questions. Eventually she bid him farewell and safe travels, but he would return the next day, and once more greeted her after she split off from the others. This was their routine for months.
Eventually, Nerra introduced Yrian to her hunting party; her brother Tamyr and his mate Aerria were most cautious of the stranger, but deferred to Mezzara, their leader. After recognizing Yrian posed no real threat to the pack, and more so that he had earned Nerra's trust and affection, Mezzara suggested that Yrian meet with their pack's leader, Faerel, though she made it clear to him, if he didn't, she would not tolerate his presence near her friend anymore. Faced with that, he agreed to, despite intimidation of the idea. Nerra had told him of Faerel, how she was blessed by the gods who founded the pack. He expected to be greeted by a mighty wolf who would punish him for trespassing on her lands. What he was greeted by was a motherly and kind figure and her mate, both in their old age. They welcomed Yrian into their pack, and from there out, Yrian knew he had a place to call home.
