Backstory:
SpoilerFreydis Bearsbane was born in Autumn in the very swamp Villmennene calls home. When the pack came to the swamp, Autumn met a rather distressed adolescent Freydis. She had just won a fight against a young female black bear. She kept the pelt, fangs, claws and the bears paw as trophies and joined Autumn back to the packs base to be patched up by the herbalist. She started to get to know the pack, and after excelling in all training fields Autumn named her her heir. They had an elaborate ceremony wherein Kiralyi, a former outsider, agility teacher and ceremonial attire crafter made Freydis a beautiful cape of black swan wings and bear pelt, and a necklace sporting the bear fangs, adorned with owl talons. Freydis was given the name Bearsbane at the ceremony. She also started work as a finisher on a hunting team, which Kiralyi's daughter Kiralyi II chased in, and that Kiralyi became Freydis's best friend. Between hunting, training, helping Autumn or making memories with her friends, Freydis Bearsbane hardly had time for anything else. Then she met Marine
Freydis and Marines relationship: How Freydis Met Marine!Spoiler Marine was found on the outskirts of Villmennene as a pup. He had a very strange story. He claimed that he had worked for man in their battles "to stop explosions and save lives" he had said. He told the pack all the men were named Marine and so was he, and it was his job to use his ears and nose to find things or rescue people that the human Marines couldnt. The pack had never heard anything like it.Some wolves believed this, some didnt. The thing they all did, though, was give Marine an audience. Freydis was fascinated. Her and Marine would go on long walks where he would tell her stories of man and how they worked, their thoughts and their fights. It was around this time that Freydis noticed Marine was an even better candidate for alpha heir. He had inside knowledge on man, which changed the way he saw and did things for the better. He was also strong, fast, and very handsome. Marine was talking and Freydis imagined if they could mate, then felt herself blush. She was certainly growing up, and she was in love! After a few days, she plucked up the courage to tell him that she thought he should take the alpha position and she would take 2nd in command as his wife. Marine was thrilled, and the two put the idea to Autumn Valkyrie. After the old lady had callen a counsel meeting with herself and the heads of each of the prominent families in the pack; the Ironfangs;the winter line; the Quinns; the Junipers and the Japan line, it was decided that Marine be named alpha next, and Freydis 2nd in command. The adolescents jumped for joy. Autumn laughed, and already she was organising ceremonial paints. It was time to celebrate again! A ceremony took place, and the couple were married publicly.
ChildrenSpoilerIt was very important to the couple that they did not breed until they were 100% satisfied with both of their strength and health. When Freydis was almost 3 and Marine 2, they decided it was finally time, and took a peaceful quiet walk to the cypress basin as the evening drew out and the sun set, casting a warm palette across the water. Frogs called, and a heron decided he would rather mind his own business on this still october night, flying away as the alpha couple made love for the first time together.
Freydis and Marine adopted a handful of a pup, Skadi, from the enclave. While she clearly looked up to the couple, Skadi and her non existent attention span found it hard to behave. She was an adventurous, impulsive trickster and she liked to prank other wolves. The two loved Skadi though, and Skadi knew it. She at least made good practice!
October lore
SpoilerMarine, the alpha of these territories, is on his way back to the den when he hears (and sees) the wolves coming. He quickly dashes into a bush, realising hes dropped his supper, a fresh hare carcass. As he goes to grab it, his pairbond, Freydis Bearsbane, is greeting the visitors, and he quickly hides.
Freydis gives a warm smile to the excited pup, and a nod to the sitter. " I like to try to do both" she smiles "do you have a neat trick you can show me? I can tell you what i can do! I can win fights with bears!" She begins to show the puppy an animated version of her bear encounters, acting them out herself in the dramatic way the young enjoy. When she finishes, she gives the puppy bear fangs as memorabilia. The little one plays with the fangs, pretending to be a bear, while the sitter looks glad for a break. Before she bids them farewell, she picks up the hare " How about an extra treat, courtesy of Villmennene?" The visitors accept the juicy meat as Freydis glares at the bush. Once they are out of earshot, she drags Marine from the bush "GET UP" he whimpers.
" What kind of alpha behaviour is this?! Autumn Valkyrie would spin in her grave. I know its only your fifth day but pull it together Marine!" He nods sheepishly "yes ma'am. When do we get to turn the lights out though?.."
Freydis chuckles, and licks Marine's cheek "not just yet my love. Not just yet"
