Biography
R.I.P Friske - First(?) and permanent chaser for his hunting party; friend of many, but especially Claye. He will be missed. Personality was Sociable.
Backstory:
Birch was born in the Spruce Lake Pack to his mother Willow and father Oak. He had one sibling, Aspen, but she unfortunately died during puppyhood. Birch's puppyhood was quite normal, and he became good friends with the older wolf Claye, who Birch's own mother had trained when Clays himself was a puppy.
At the time Birch was born and continuing for the rest of the time he was in the pack, Spruce Lake Pack was clinging onto a small scrap of territory amongst the much larger territories of several other packs, and they couldn't support a large number of wolves; along with that, they were always under threat from the enemy packs.
Spruce Lake pack managed to hold onto their territory for over three more years before another pack attacked them in early summer. The survivors scattered and were disbanded, most of them never seeing each other again. Birch and Willow escaped together, but Willow was elderly by then, and soon passed away. Before her death, she told Birch to go the nearby mountains; she had been raised there and she felt there were safe, and she suspected other Spruce Lake Pack survivors may go there. So Birch left the coniferous forest he had been born in and travelled into the mountains.
He spent the next few months wandering the mountains, trying to find survivors from his old pack but failing. After some time, Birch decided to change his name to Friske, since he was no longer part of the pack that had named him Birch and he wanted a new start. He started to give up hope of finding survivors, or even finding friendly wolves again, which he struggled with. But then, during late autumn, he stumbled into a wolf who he knew well - Claye. His best friend from their time in the Spruce Lake Pack! They were both overjoyed to see eachother again, and Friske told Claye that his name was no longer Birch, but was now Friske. It was obvious to them that they should stick together after somehow finding each other again, and so they did.
Soon, it was early spring, and Claye and Friske were tired and hungry after a harsh winter. That's when Reina found them. She offered them a place to stay in return for them helping her and her packmate to hunt. Claye was a naturally positive wolf, and he trusted them; Friske was naturally sociable and he wanted to be with a pack again. It turned out to be one of the best decisions they had ever made, and the pack, Istone, became their new home - a home that Friske loved almost as much as his old one.
Claye died peacefully in his sleep about three years later, and soon after the hunting party that Frisked had helped build had to be disbanded, as it was missing its finisher. Friske retired from his role, and a few months later he too passed on in his sleep, going to join the ancestors in the great frozen plains and to run alongside Willow and Claye again.
