Biography
Father was born a blessed pup.
He was known as "Senai" (Gift From Above) when he was born.
His mother, Poppy, was a flea riddled and sickly female whom was put in the trading fields for a low price. Her coat was one that was deemed valuable to some, but to the late pack leader, she was special.
The Oracle pack has always been filled with prophets, healers, and wise oracles whom had all spoke of prophetic tongue for most of their lives. Arlow was now an old leader. He was said to be born of this world with one eye towards the heavens and one towards hell. His mismatched eyes are what made him stand out and made the oracles take note in him.
Tranquil was an old oracle. Her eyes black and full of wisdom. She and Arlow scoured the trading grounds as they did on any normal full moon, in search of any wolf that may be of use in the pack.
They stumbled upon Poppy. Tranquil's fur bristled as she saw the black sheen in the mothers eyes that mirrored hers.
"The Matron" she whispered.
Senai was born healthy and small alongside his strong brother, Bishop. The two pups were always ravenous for food and never let Poppy rest a single moment. She was treated with royalty as the oracles of the pack had agreed that she would sire a prophetic heir. They all believed that the pups would grow to do great things.
Bishop was the largest and thus was more doted on with the pack as a newborn. They oogled over his potential. All up until the two opened their eyes. They were disappointed to see Bishops were grey.. and even more surprised to see Senai's were pitch black.
The two trained and grew into strong teenagers. Senai was always clumsy and would trip over his paws that were too big for his lanky stature, while his brother "Bishop" would conquer his duties with ease. He had heard whispers of the hunters. "How is a Prophetic heir supposed to lead while he can be trampled by his own kin?".
Even with his eyes grey, Bishop still held favoritism over the pack. He started to believe the whispers of the pack, that he was entitled to be the prophetic heir, and that the oracles were wrong. As young adults, Bishop would go and train with the hunters and scouts while Senai would stay home with his mother and the oracles in their den. He curled up to Poppy, feeling as if he had disappointed his mother and the pack for not being strong enough, fast enough or sly enough to keep up with the others. He had felt like a failure.
"You're perfect as you are, Senai" His mother cooed, grooming away his tears. "We were saved by Arlow and the Oracles. They gave us a home.. Have faith in their wisdom".
The next day, Bishop was urged to take Senai on a hunt with him and his packmates. Bishop begrudgingly obliged. His packmates giggled like jackals. With the clumsy Senai tagging along? They wouldn't be able to even catch a grouse. Bishops nose wrinkled.. He knew that it was no use with his little brother.
"Senai, we're going to hunt in the mountains today. Think you can catch up?" Bishop smirked, turning to his packmates knowing full well that the treacherous area would be impossible to terrain for such a clumsy hunter.
Excited to possibly prove himself worthy of the pack, Senai followed.
The higher the altitude, the worse the snow got. The harder it was to see the wolf infront of him. Suddenly, the pack seemed to disappear altogether.
"Brother? Brother?" Senai howled. The whipping wind howling harder as the cold filled his lungs. Snow tore at his eyelids as he squinted through the sandpaper-y weather. Blindly he hobbled, his paws slipping on the icey rocks hugging the side of the mountains.
"Brother??"
Suddenly it went quiet. One slip of his clumsy paws and Senai stumbled.
The pack had been watching from above, toothy grins and snickering coming from each of their mouths'.
"I thought this was just supposed to teach him not to follow us around" Bishop whispered, his eyes staring at where his brother was. "He was calling to me as he fell.. I didn't mean for him to get hurt" Bishop whined, desperately trying to get the attention of any of his pack members. They were too busy cheering over their victory of getting rid of the "pest". They sat like vultures above where Senai had fell. Watching and savoring every moment.
"Relax Bishop. With him gone, who else to fill the prophetic heir but you?" A female huntress called, her tail wagging in the snow as she proudly grinned towards him. Bishop flushed and swallowed hard. He had wanted to lead.. he was obviously the best choice. The entire pack had believed so ever since they were pups. Just because his eyes were grey, he was cast out of being what the oracles had wanted..
