Swamp has always wanted to be a finisher. They might not like other wolves, but they can tolerate their hunting team if it means they get to be a finisher.

What Swamp and Lichen have doesn't really feel like a friendship, but they both consider it that. These two are often seen fighting and bickering about the littlest things. They seem to enjoy this however, and push comes to shove these two would protect each other with their lives.


History

Swamp was born to Marigold alongside their littermates Void, Seashell and Russet. From a young age Swamp knew two things, they wanted to be a finisher when they grew up, and they didn't like other wolves. Their family were… fine. But other wolves were just so annoying to be around. Swamp's siblings enjoyed teasing them about their lonesome nature.

Once an adolescent, Swamp began their training as a finisher, with two of their siblings' becoming chasers, and one becoming a tracker. Swamp enjoyed the job straight away, chasing and hunting down prey was so exhilarating. But… well they just couldn't connect with the other hunters, finding themselves often bickering with their fellow teammates.

Swamp did manage to make one friend during their apprenticeship. While out on a walk by themselves, they got attacked by an Ethiopian wolf. Swamp put up a fair fight and earned respect from the wolf, who they learned was named Chase. The two established an unlikely bond, Swamp spending their spare time with Chase, the older wolf teaching the apprentice all sorts of things about the world.

By the time they reached adulthood, Swamp was a powerful and respected finisher. They still, however, had issues connecting with their hunting team. They at least found some middle ground and can now go at least a few days without starting a fight in their hunting team.

Swamp doesn't like most wolves and can't help but laugh at the idea of having a mate. They want to be left alone as often as they can, having a mate and pups would only get in the way of that. Their family weren't surprised when Swamp told them this, they couldn't picture the wolf with a mate anyway.

Swamp dealt with their mother's death in solitude, as they did most things. Of course, they were sad, who wouldn't be? But to seek the comfort of another wolf… Swamp couldn't have imagined anything worse. They processed their grief on their own, setting up a small memorial of flowers for their mother, and over time the grief lessened.

On the 7th year and 6th month of their life, Swamp made their way to the mountains summit. Void, Russet, Seashell, and Ruby keeping them company through most of the journey. Once at the top, looking out at the endless sky, Swamp, Void, Russet, and Seashell were greeted by their mother, Marigold, who gently guided them to the afterlife.
