Birth Certificate
Birth Date: Aug 22 (Spring)
Mother: Greyspirit
Father: FrostWalker (Sharpstone Pack)
Birth Stats: 294 STR 111 SPD 117 AGI 117 WIS 160 SMR = 799
Pupsitter: Coyotepelt
Riverrock was a dedicated little boy who considered it his mission in life to listen to his elders and do whatever they said. In fact, sometimes he took it a little too far. If his pupsitter Coyotepelt told him to stop chatting and eat during breakfast, he wouldn't say another word all day. If his mother Greyspirit told him to clean up a mess he'd made, he would make sure that area was spotless for hours. Most of his elders didn't think this was a problem, but his mom's best friend Foxtrick saw the anxiety underlying his behavior. She pulled him aside one day and comforted him, telling him that nobody expected perfection and he didn't need to waste energy like that. Especially when that energy would soon be needed elsewhere.
At the Academy, River was assigned to study strength and speed and he found that Fox had been right. Doing well in school quickly took his focus away from the obsessive command following he'd been known for before. Though he still liked to do as he was told and his teachers appreciated that very much. River was one of the favorite students in his class, earning high marks in all his lessons. No one was surprised when the pupsitters recommended him for a finisher role. Grey was so very proud of her son and looked forward to the day when he would bring down some large prey animal to feed the pack.
During his apprenticeship, River shadowed his mother to learn the job of a finisher. His natural pull to following orders made him a good team player and several hunts that might have failed actually succeeded because of his help. Just like at the Academy, he was everyone's favorite apprentice, but he didn't revel in that as other youngsters might have. He was focused on learning as much as he could and being the best hunter he could be. He was nervous to make a kill for the first time, but his mom talked him though it beforehand and it went without a hitch. His mom praised him and Fox made sure he felt okay when he came home afterwards.
On his first birthday, River joined in the celebration with his siblings and the other young wolves in the pack. He was determined to keep his wits about him, so while others guzzled fermented barley, he only took a ceremonial sip. There was a lot to take in at the party and he didn't want to miss a single moment.
Now as an adult, River still likes to do as he's told, but he knows that his emotional state is important too and doesn't take things to extremes. There's more to life than following orders and River makes sure to seek out some fun activity every day to keep his life balanced. Given how hard he works on the trail every day, River was a little bit jealous when his brother Mountainheart was appointed breeding male and then Beta to Alpha Grizzlyslash. But his other siblings reminded him that Mountain was the highest statted of all the wolves their age in the pack and that Mountain also works hard. In the end, love and respect for his brother won out and River rededicated himself to his work and the good of the pack.
