Heron has always been intrigued and fascinated by the world beyond the pack's base, having a strong desire to explore and learn about the world around her. It was unsurprising when she became a Scout.

Fern and Heron got along from the moment Fern was born. These two understood each other, and Fern knew he could rely on Heron to be there for him. Being a leader wasn't easy, Heron had seen how much her mother had struggled. She would be there for her nephew, help him every step of the way.

Mentor: Badger
Having her father as a mentor was exciting to Heron. Though she will admit it meant she didn't listen to him as well as she would have a wolf she wasn't related to. She knew it drove her father mad, but she was used to his grumpy moods and wasn't particularly fazed. Over time however, Badger's lessons began to change, became more engaging and she found herself paying more and more attention.

Apprentice: Beast
Heron understood her fathers struggles when she was given an apprentice of her own. Beast, while he seemed to enjoy the job of Scout, was clearly bitter he wasn't chosen as the heir to the pack. He spent a lot of his time grumbling and doing dangerous things in an attempt to show off. Heron was petrified when the young wolf wandered off during training, he was missing for several days. The day he was found, with now a pair of horns on his head, Heron couldn't stop crying. The two's relationship seemed to change after this, the traumatic event bringing them closer. Heron loves her nephew and works hard to prove to him that the role of scout is just as impressive and important as being leader.


History

Heron was born to Elk, Badger, and Finch alongside her littermates Bison, Honey, Lichen, Courser, and Agate. Heron loves all her siblings and thinks she is just so lucky to have them all… Even if they drive her insane sometimes. As much as she loves her family, Heron finds herself fascinated with the world around her and can't wait to be big enough to explore the world outside of base.

Once an adolescent, Heron chose to train as a scout, with her littermates choosing to be hunters and pupsitters. No wolf was particularly surprised by Heron's choice. She had always wanted to explore beyond the pack's territory, and now she could. Having her father as her mentor was entertaining to the wolf, though it did mean she didn't take things as seriously as she could have. Luckily, she also had Patch to keep her on the right path.

By the time she reached adulthood, Heron had proven herself to be a diligent and skilled scout. She adored the job and enjoyed being able to go off on her own without another scout now. As much as she loved her packmates, the peace and quiet was nice every once in a while.

Heron had had a crush on Avalanche since they were both adolescents. The two often got teased by their packmates for their obvious feelings for each other. Heron didn't care though, she liked Avalanche and was proud of it. She couldn't imagine a better wolf to spend her life with. The two of them officially became mates a few months after Heron reached adulthood.

Heron and Avalanche had both wanted pups, deciding to have a litter. They were blessed with two girls and two boys. Heron loved her pups, both anxious and excited when she learnt one of them may take over her mother's role as leader. While Heron found herself slightly disappointed that one of her own pups wasn't picked, she was still happy for her sister, and proud of her nibling Fern for getting the honor instead.

Heron knew her Father Badger was getting older, it still hurt when he passed, however. Heron did her best to be strong, finding comfort in her pups. She felt mixed emotions when her mother passed, while she would miss her, her mother had lived a full life. Plus, she was excited for her nibling Fern. It was finally their time to be lead. Finch was her last parent to pass, she would miss him dearly, but she was glad to know her father was now back with his mate who he loved so dearly.

On the 7th year and 6th month of her life, Heron made her way to the mountains summit. Bison, Honey, Lichen, Courser, Agate, and Ruby keeping her company through most of the journey. Once at the top, looking out at the endless sky, Heron, Bison, Honey, Lichen, Courser, and Agate were greeted by their Parents, Fern, Badger, and Finch, who gently guided them to the afterlife.
