A female wolf approaches you, a dazzling enchantment to the way she was walking. She bows her head in greeting and somberly looks beyond.
"So, have you found a mate yet?"
"No, and I fear I never will, I am making plans to pick an heir from the strongest pup in my pack, at the time of my death"
With that the black-coated she-wolf walks off, lights dazzling off her back

Amethyst, born to a runaway female from a distant pack, was taken in by a kind wolf named Mimetite. The male wolf was kind and caring towards her, raising Amethyst after her mother's death. She grew up quickly, adopted, and found many wolves along the way, having a pack of 14 before she turned 3.

Shortly after Amethyst turned 4, Mimetite died, pushing her into a state of grief from which she never truly recovered. She decided early on to choose a suitable pup to raise to become the next pack leader before her 7th year.

She chose... Deverra, a female wolf whom she found wandering alone one day. There was nothing particularly special about Deverra, something about her just caught Amethyst's eye.
