When the old pack leader, Faerie fell victim to a pack of corrupted wolves, the pack was left leaderless for two long nights, in-fighting was running wild as they tried to find a suitable wolf to take the role.

That's when Derek, a newly grown wolf, took matters into his own paws, declaring himself the leader while fighting any who stood in his way, after killing a pack-mate who dared challenge him for the role in a brutal fashion, the rest of the pack quietly accepted their new leader.

Derek loved the effect the death had, as word got out of how such a young but heartless wolf was willing to do anything to keep his pack from falling into disrepair, he soon grew a name for himself. A wolf whom many nearby packs feared to wrong, some even leaving gifts on the border of his land to keep the peace.
