Solarwind was born to a single loner mother who had more pups than she could care for, on a particularly hard winter where even her mother was struggling to find food. As a result, Solar was often neglected for long periods of time while her mother tried to care for all of her children. She was one of the biggest of her litter, and often would try and catch a weasel or two for her siblings when her mother couldn't find anything. Inevitably, her mother died that winter, and though she tried her best to save them, all her siblings died, too. Heartbroken, she wandered around the mountains as an adolescent, aimlessly living her life. Occasionally she would encounter other loner adolescents who weren't as skilled as her, but using her larger size and hunting experience she managed to fend them off. Solarwind would often see the Flamewalkers hunting and playing around, and was almost envious of them. Almost.
The Alpha of the pack, Aderyn, was called to a hunting mission one morning when Runewing and Sagebrush found that the porcupine they had been chasing was already engaged in battle- with a loner adolescent wolf. Aderyn, upon realising that it was a huge feat for an adolescent to have stalked, chased and nearly brought down a porpupine, invited Solarwind to the pack. Solarwind declined Runewing and Sagebrush's offer to care for her, however joined the Flamewalker pack under the condition that she would be contributing to hunts. Aderyn respects her independence and her need to be alone sometimes. Currently, she stalks for the Generation 2 hunting party, and feeds the pups - just like the siblings she couldn't save on that winter night.
