The elders used to say that once a wolf dies, their body would lay under the soil to replenish the world and that their soul would be taken up to the sky where they would hunt endlessly forever more. That when the night is cloudless, it is your loved ones staring back at you, watching you, looking out for you. That the closest they can get to you after they die is the warm, gentle winds that course through the world. The caw of a raven or crow, delivering a message. The elders used to say that if you listen closely when the storms rage on, you can hear the howling of your ancestors and loved ones.

Hailing from a far land, Walnut traveled to these lands after being chased out by a hostile pack who had defeated her former pack. She could only hope these stories were true, that her pack was watching over her in the afterlife. She could find comfort in that, if it was.

She struggled, at first. Other lone wolves seemed put off by her eagerness to make friends. She herself was put off by their hostility. After what seemed like seasons, she had journeyed to the Mountains, where she found the company of a few wolves (lost to time, most of their names and appearance are unknown). There, in a mess of a long abandoned ravine, they each promised their lives to creating a new home, a new pack. Charmed by her, the gathered wolves elected to call her the Alpha. And thus, Quasar Quarry was formed
