The son of Professors Sada and Turo, Arven was frequently left at home by himself as his parents were busy with their research. According to a journal in the research labs, one of the parents walked out on Arven not long after his birth. One day, the remaining parent brought a strange Pokémon to stay at the home, but when other people saw it, they were forced to take it back to Area Zero. Arven bonded with his Mabosstiff, as it was always with him every day. One day, he and Mabosstiff went to Area Zero, only to be attacked by a strange Pokémon that left Mabosstiff severely injured.
