Temari lost her mate when the village was destroyed. She misses him a lot, and she wants to take revenge on the Nine Tailed Fox- the others whisper about that being the only reason she joined the pack, but every time Temari hears them, she just bares her teeth and goes to hunt.
It's silent in the wild. It's peaceful. It's a way of clearing her thoughts, and every deer she observes in the forest makes her feel closer to her deceased lover, as they were his favorite prey.
Sometimes, she catches one and buries half, so Shikamaru can have his own piece of food, wherever he is right now.
