Pupsitter: Coyotepelt
Autumnbreeze was a keen little girl who couldn't wait to explore the world. She idolized her mom Rainfrost and aunt Goldensong and was determined to follow them into scouting, even from a young age. To her, scouting was the most amazing thing she could imagine doing with her life. Any story written by a scout would have her rapt attention during storytime. When the scouts were home, Autumn would pester them for even the smallest tidbit about what it was like outside the dens, tiny tail wagging madly. In every game of Pretend Pack, Autumn insisted on playing a scout, even if other pups complained that they wanted a turn. Her pupsitter Coyotepelt told her that maybe she should think about other possibilities, but Autumn was adamant about what she wanted.
At the Academy, Autumn was assigned to study speed and wisdom to strengthen her weakest stats. She was a decent student, but she would get distracted sometimes and end up disrupting class. Her teachers learned quickly that beginning a lesson with "Scouts should know this..." would get Autumn's undivided attention for the duration of that day's class. Some of her elders were surprised that Autumn did well enough to choose her last lesson, but Mentor Moondream was sure of her decision. Autumn chose a Pathfinding lesson and did very well. In fact, she was the quickest to find her way home after being led out to an unfamiliar area. It was the first time she'd been at the head of the class and her mom's prideful greeting let her know that she'd taken her first steps in the right direction.
During her apprenticeship, Autumn was finally allowed to leave home under the supervision of mom or aunt Golden. There was so much to learn and she couldn't wait to get started. That became a problem a few times when she ran ahead of the experienced scout before she was ready to go it alone. One encounter with an agitated mama bear and another with an almost sheer cliff taught her not to be so overzealous. Scouting could be exciting and fun, but it could also be dangerous, and Autumn needed to recognize both if she wanted to be successful. She realized that she would have to leave behind the exuberant puppy she had been and learn to be more cautious.
On her first birthday, Autumn made sure to wake her cousin in time for the party. There wasn't a moment of celebration to lose. Tomorrow, Autumn would be expected to take on adult responsibilities and she wasn't about to let that come without getting sufficiently drunk.
Now as an adult, Autumn is still excited for every scouting mission and happy every day that she chose that path. She won't pass up the joy of sliding down a snowy hillside in the tundra or the pleasure of a waterfall shower in the rainforest. But she knows that the life of a scout isn't just fun and games. It's a serious job and demands a level of respect. That's why Autumn never comes home without the information she was seeking. Her reports to Alpha Grizzlyslash are never late or incomplete. But once she's taken care of work, it's time to have some more fun with her packmates. Drunk or sober, Autumn is always a blast to be around and her stories never disappoint. She loves to use her experiences to inspire puppies, just as she was inspired herself.
