Puppy Lesson Log
10/28/23 - Hunting Basics: Scorch felt that she was almost ready to try a real hunt and begged Onyx to let her. He listened and explained that no matter how talented a pup may be, everyone had to train until they were old enough to move on.
10/29/23 - Working Together: The lesson today focused on relaying information accurately among pack members. Scorch sat with several other pups as they whispered the same sentence around the circle and tried to keep it the same, but when it came back to Onyx it was hilariously different than when it started.
10/30/23 - Hiding: To Scorch's surprise, Onyx found her quite quickly today. Scorch was reminded to mind her tail while hiding, because energetic wagging can be easily heard and seen.
10/31/23 - Pathfinding: Today, Tawny explained to Scorch how to use shortcuts effectively depending on the weather. Mudslides can be deadly if you decide to climb a slope during the rain!
11/01/23 - Recognising Danger: Scorch's brow furrowed in concentration as she worked on guessing which herbs placed before her were poisonous and which were not. Onyx watched with interest.
11/02/23 - Effective Killing: Scorch tested out some killing techniques on the carcass. Mist explained which methods take the most strength, but are also the quickest, which saves energy and spares the prey from suffering.
11/03/23 - Prey Tracking: Scorch was confused when she could catch the same scent in several spots, but Mist's smirk explained it all. It was one of those tricky lessons and Scorch did everything to prove she was smart enough to track prey effectively.
