Biography
Mirror relievingly inhaled the rich scent of fir, padding over to her older littermate with a questioning gaze, her white eyes clear as a sparkling crystal and thoughtful as never in her life. Once in a while Flax invited her for a walk with no good reasoning, weaving mystery. He was never the one to grant steadfast trust to, his intentions always malicious and cunning, Mirror knew him well as her brother, since puphood he tried to play dark jokes with her and make fun of her unfortunate failures.
"Where are we going?" The she-wolf frowned as Flax beckoned her with a flick of his black tail. "You've told me nothing about this." Her dark nose twitched as she caught an unpleasant, unfamiliar smell, strange and mixed. Her brother remained silent, his sweetened expressions fake. Mirror lifted an eyebrow, glancing back to where she came from. The coniferous trees turned dense in this part of the forest. She could barely see the colours of the setting sun, vividly splashing the sky and bringing the clouds a mirthfully violet hue. The beauty of evening reflected in Mirror's eyes as she perked her ears, hearing gentle commotion around her.
The bushes rustled.
Once again.
"Flax? Do you hear it?"
A sinister smile formed along the wolf's maw, as Mirror was about to continue, he turned his back to her.
"Wait." He spoke.
"For what?"
Seconds later, a sudden strike of agonising pain hit her multicoloured flank as Mirror turned with a yowl, her white eyes quickly widening in genuine fear to see a fresh, bleeding wound of hers. Her sight became blurry, injury deafened by shock as creatures she never saw before approached with weapons and victorious sounds unfamiliar to her careful ears. Flax managed to rescue his own tricky pelt a while ago, the she-wolf managed to frown before everything faded to black.
How much time passed? Mirror blinked back into reality. She was at the same spot, covered by a torn fishing net, her blood darkening the young, lush grass her paws were laid at. There was no movement in the female's body except a steady heartbeat and a squint of her clear, crystallised with tears of constant pain eyes. Another, new scar was noticed running across her hind leg, as Mirror dropped her head in terror of what was happening. These weren't skillful marks of a predator's gilded talons, the wound was deep and what caused it was otherworldly. Did Flax lure her here? How could he? Her littermate, who she dearly loved, even if not so clearly displaying that she did. He was her brother, who left her all alone, helplessly bleeding out in the middle of the blooming forest.
Pawsteps were heard, elegant and confident. These were barely noticeable, leaves weren't rustling beneath this wolf's steady walk rhythm but Mirror could feel the commotion. A careful canine, pelt of whomst resembling her own was gazing at her. A gasp was all she heard.
Wake up. Once again? Pain in her wound was deafened, skilfully soothed. A subtle scent of herbs hit her sharp senses, a bunch of other predators observing her carefully. She never seen these wolves before, but after a few blinks Mirror realized she could trust them.
This was her new home.
