The old wolf approached Judas, a peaceful aura around him. His bones popped and creaked as he walked. The sun was still casting a golden glow, illuminating his golden fur. With an old and weathered smile on his face, he asked the black wolf, voice polite as ever.
"My days are growing shorter and every time the sun rests on my fur I find it harder to rouse myself. I came to visit you to ask a favor. You have a wolf here I have visited many times in my life and my wish is to spend my final days in her company. I know I am an old man but I hope that I can be of some use to you in return for being with my love."
Judas's reply was wordless. For a long moment the two wolves looked into each other's eyes. Jovian sensed the slightest change in the other male's eyes. Jovian lowered his head in gratitude and Judas turned away and left. Jovian turned around and saw his love approach him. The two wolves spent a long time that day laying in the sun and feeling the calm wind brush past them, the air carrying a slight autumn chill.
