BACKSTORY
This wolf is named after our late pet dog, Yellow. He was a generic yellow-coated dog born the same year as I was, and adopted into the family as a gift from a relative. I grew up with him when I was a young child, however later on my father took him to one of the construction sites he was working at as a supervisor to help with guard dog duty. I never knew what became of him at the end of his life, as he was relatively old in dog years when we parted ways. Looking back now there was also the potential that he actually passed away somehow and my parents only gave me that reason to soften the blow of a pet's death to their kid, but even later on when I inquired they always gave the same answer so I could never know for sure. Either way, that was more than 2 decades ago so I'm sure that he has long gone to doggy heaven, with our time together a memory cherished.
When I saw this NBW I immediately thought of him, with the yellow, dirty coat. He always seemed to still have a bit of wildness in him, and I remember thinking that even without us taking care of him he would have found a way to survive somehow. It is strange, to find the silhouette of him when and where I least expect it, especially since I have not thought of him in such a long time now. It is like dusting off a childhood memory you did not know was still there only to find an old friend exactly as you left them. Regardless of what happened or did not happen, now Yellow will have a home with my pack until the end of his days.
