Biography
Queen Moonstar is the first leader of the Full Moon Tribe. Born under a full moon, she was destined to be a leader, but was the pup of a low-ranked scout, and had no chance of becoming a leader. She trained as a scout, but always had a special connection to pups and would help pupsit in her spare time. She grew up a strong, friendly adolescent, but almost entirely friendless due to spending almost all day pupsitting or scouting. She did have one friend, a charming young male named Chasepelt. They were opposites.
His pelt was dark as night, opposed to Moonstar's coat of light.
He was born under a moonless sky, while she was born when the moon was high.
He loved to hunt and chase the prey, she could watch others' pups all day.
They were opposites, joined together. They remained friends through all they weathered.
( idk why i wrote a poem, was just writing and it came out )
The harshest storm they weathered, one with fierce winds and pelting rain, nearly killed them both. It killed a lot of wolves, wolves dear to them both. Moonstar's pack was relatively young, maybe one or two generations, and prone to attack from other packs. That was exactly the downfall of her previous pack. They were ambushed by a nearby, blood-hungry pack, known to many as the death pack. They slaughtered Moonstar's leader, killed many of their packmates and ate the pups that Moonstar dearly loved to watch. She was hidden in the forest, feeling helpless, when she saw Chasepelt had been pinned by a large, mottled brown wolf. She lunged, knocking the wolf off of him and telling Chasepelt to run. The other wolf came back with a vengeance, latching hard onto her shoulder with razor-sharp teeth. Moonstar yipped in pain and tried to shake him, but it was nearly impossible.
She would've died there, defending her friend as the bloody battle of death raged around her, but Chasepelt came back for her. He viciously clawed the face of the mottled wolf, causing him to howl out in pain and let go of her, giving them both a chance to flee.
The two of them only stopped hours later, despite the large bite wound on Moonstar's shoulder and the multiple painful scratches Chasepelt. They settled down for the night in a small grove of trees, mourning their losses and counting their dead, deep inside the lonely abyss of their minds. Somehow they ended up curled together, licking each others wound's and wondering how they ended up there.
Many nights were spent wandering the vast forests under a bed of stars, chasing dreams in a forest of horrors, growing closer under oaks of a hundred years. They searched through grasslands and rivers, mountains and valleys, looking for a place to call home. Something changed in those lost days, something changed between them. There, living as wanders, packless, hungry and cold, they fell in love.
It seemed hopeless. Two lone wolves, a tragic past, a love neither could understand. They wandered, together alone, for three months. They grew skinny and could count eachothers' ribs, but they still trudged on. They braved the bitter winter, snow layering the trees and finding its way into their pelts, until the sun showed its shining face and turned snow into slush, slush into water.
And the world blossomed. And so did their love. Neither knew for sure, but Luna was pregnant. That's when they met Tala. She guided the two lovers, helped them settle down and form a pack. Moonstar had two pups, both male, but died in a sudden frost, the last breath of winter. The mourning, felt months ago in that bloody hurricane of a battle, came sudden and strong. Chasepelt started hunting again, becoming a vicious finisher, and Moonstar spent nearly all of her free time exploring. She was kind, though, helping the pregnant wolves and making sure they were well fed, although they were to bear pups of Chasepelt's, pups that would survive.
And so she trudged on...
