Singed Fur

They felt so stiff, laying in the damp cave. limbs almost numb. Lifting their head as they heard the scream of those dreadful coyotes. So fucking noisy and cruel they were. 

They stood up and huffed before walking outside the den, eyes looking for any trace of the coyotes that plagued the pack. There, near the bushes, further away but still closer then necessary. Then again any coyote on the territory was killed on sight.

Bolting down the mountain side at full speed, snarling as they felt their limbs loosen and their paws thumping against the rough rocky terrain. The coyotes screamed in fear before dashing away.

One was not so lucky, frozen in fear as a smoking wolf slammed into them and held them by the throat. The coyote could smell the thick smoke, taste its thick burning. 

As singed fur blinded them...
