After Swiftstar's death, Winterspirit visited the Moonstone and succeeded Swiftstar's position as leader of the pack.
He has grown into a fine and muscular wolf, and has the qualities a pack leader should have.
He bears the responsibility of keeping his pack safe, along with his trusted deputy, his mate Oakpatch.
Together, they keep watch over SwiftClan Pack and mourn the loss of their first leader.

Winterspirit is an aloof, cold, distant piebald wolf.
He was chosen by Swiftstar to be the new deputy after Jewelwind stepped down, claiming that she did not want the responsibility of being leader as she was going to have a litter of pups with her mate and she wanted to watch them grow up without carrying the weight of the clan on her shoulders.
Although Winterspirit might be cold, underneath the layers of ice, he has a soft heart.
Swiftstar's life was coming to an end, and he knew, under those layers, Winterspirit had the qualities of a leader, so he chose him as deputy, despite his clanmates' doubts.
Without wolves often noticing, Winterspirit helped them in the ways that he could.
Swiftstar knew he was the perfect leader for SwiftClan, that he would make the best choice for the clan and its wolves would thrive under his rule.
He knew he could now rest, relieved, knowing that the clan would be in the good paws of Winterspirit after he went to StarClan.

Winterspirit is a huge, thick furred, slightly muscular blue wolf with piebald patches across his fur. He has unusually long claws and fangs and long scars on his body from a snow bear.
Due to his white piebald patches, whilst hunting, the prey would often notice his white patches and bolt away at the last second, leaving him usually empty pawed when he returned to camp. Due to his pelt color, Winterspirit has to roll in mud before a hunt, camouflaging himself just as well as the other hunters.
