The Boobies herself has arrived in Stor Pack! Lille found the adolescent she-wolf gnawing on a bone and brought her home, much to Boobies disdain. She spent the entire journey huffing and shuffling her paws, moaning about wanting to be left alone. Lille could barely contain her laughter, thinking how this must've been exactly how her own mother was at this age.

Speaking of Lille's mother, pack leader Bjorn was not pleased in the slightest about a new arrival unexpectedly. She huffed, and shuffled her paws, and Lille only got giddier. The adolescent still smelled faintly of the comforting milky scents of a nursery, despite her nearly full grown stature. And she'd never heard a name so strange.... Boo-bees? She couldn't explain it. She could only delight in her mother's frustration over Boo-bees' sulky demeanor.

Boobies herself was bombarded with sounds and scents of the rich, bustling pack. Most of the members were as young or younger than she, being a relatively new pack wedged just below the cold mountains. To be honest, she'd come here because she believed no wolf could live here... deep sigh. Well, for now, she'll stick around-- y'know, since they're feeding her. Annnd, she guesses, meet some of the new (dreadfully) cheerful pack mates she's acquired. Not that she cares, or anything.

2nd October 2023

Boobies didn't quite understand how she, an unexceptional wolf, she thought, with no particular skills, had received such an enthusiastic invitation to come and stay with this strange pack. She sniffed to herself. Probably they were all even more unexceptional than she was. They welcomed her with a rather ridiculous show of excitement and explained to her that the spooky season was upon them. Blah blah something about someone called Tala being dressed up with an egg? Boobies didn't care. She did have to admit, however, to a grudging admiration of the mountain surroundings. [Added White Mountain background]

4th October

Boobies had packed a lot of fun into a few days, she managed to eat more treats in a few days than in a normal few months and got pregnant into the bargain. She'd met a beautiful wolf while trick or treating and soon realised she was expecting pups.

Boobies didn't have much to do besides going along with the pups as they went trick-or-treating around the neighbouring wolves. Eventually the other wolves got sick of Boobies bouncing around the cave, unrestrained, getting in everyone's way, and she was convinced to make herself useful, so she started to help out with looking after the pups. She found the spoilt, smelly little wolves quite annoying to start with but they grew on her and found she quite enjoyed it - good, when she was due pups of her own soon!

8th October

Pups! Originally she had thought that the three eyes of the mystery wolf she had met while trick or treating were part of a Howloween costume, only to realize they weren't when two of her pups had them too. Generally she finds pups ugly things, but thinks hers are beautiful! And THEY think she's wonderful without ever making weird incomprehensible jokes about her name...

15th October

Boobies had a tolerable last few days with Ishtar's pack: trick-or-treating with the pups, and watching her own young pup grow bigger and stronger while she helped look after all the pack's young. She was starting to roll her eyes far back into her head every time a pup complained it was hungry though, or asked a ridiculous question.

She decided she'd stayed long enough. Her host pack tried and tried to convince her to stay, but she had places to be, wolves to meet, and invitations to stay with other packs were piling up. It was time to be off!

The pack all gathered to see her off, waving goodbye as she wrenched herself away from the warm, homely scene. Her resolve hardened as she entered the cool night air, her ears perked up at the sound of a distant owl, and she sprang pertly down away from the cave and on to another adventure.

Lore
Blizzardpack; October 15th 2023 - October 26th 2023

The lone wolf padded down from the woodland into the flat prairie, all four pups in tow. The young ones had been squealing and complaining for hours, but Boobies had places to be, and the youngsters clearly needed to learn resilience and patience.
It was dusk when a scampering pup's clumsy paws disturbed a purple flower, strewn with butterflies. Boobies conceded to stop for a while so her young ones could play with the insects. She needed a rest, anyway, and their squeaks were getting on her nerves. No amount of pupsitting experience could have prepared her for having pups of her own; the levels of annoyance and exhaustion she felt daily were indescribable. It would improve once they were older, right? [ added Regal Fritillary and Arctic White ]

Boobies arrived in Blizzardpack's camp early the next morning, disheveled and tired. Sleeping in the prairie with four pups was not enjoyable in the slightest. But the welcome from the pack shocked her enough to wake her right up.
Tundra, the alpha, stared at her for a full five seconds as if she were a ghost. Then he grumbled out a near-unbelievable story about her being his long-lost daughter. Boobies had no memory of a single thing he said--that she'd trundled out into the mountains as a pup and gotten lost. It took a while to process the revelation; Boobies did her best not to be angry at her parents for not... looking for her harder, or something. She supposed it was silly to blame them.
Tundra and his mate, Crimson, provided Boobies an oddly warm welcome, given how unfriendly they both seemed otherwise. Though they kept giving her odd looks, and their packmates snickered behind Boobies's back once. She was used to all of it, though, so she paid the wolves no mind, though she certainly gave a few of them dirty looks in return. They just laughed harder.
Boobies settled somewhat huffily into the "travelers' den," where two wolves called Dust and Dusty already dwelt. Oddly, the siblings weren't merely similar, they were perfectly identical--a fascinating conundrum. The sisters were quite kind, though, despite their remarkable attributes, and Boobies's pups were soon happily playing with them.

After a few days, Boobies was growing bored. She ventured out into the territory to explore one night, and encountered something strange: a rabbit with horns! She caught it and ate it. Yummy. Only, when she woke up the next morning in Blizzardpack, she had horns,, just like the odd rabbit. Nobody knew what to make of it, though Tundra did mention a similar occurrence that happened a few months ago. Although the packmate who had, like Boobies, seemingly grown horns overnight, had long since left. Well, at least Boobies wasn't alone. And her horns looked kind of cool, anyway. [ added Pronghorn Antlers ]

Her pups truly were growing up. Soon, she realized that they were now gangly adolescents, ready to train with the adults of Blizzardpack. She made sure they had the best education possible as they trained with the hunters and pupsitters. Each of her youngsters were good students, and Boobies caught Tundra and Crimson looking at them proudly more than once.

Despite how well she and her pups fit into Blizzardpack, and how many friends they'd been making, Boobies knew she couldn't stay forever. She had places to be and new wolves to meet, and she wanted her pups to have the experience of traveling, like she had. And they would be adults soon enough: maybe she could have another litter soon, in another pack. (She'd decided she didn't dislike pups so much, after all.)
On the day she'd decided to leave, she gathered up her pups--they protested; she'd clearly slacked off on their discipline during their stay--and made to leave camp without saying goodbye. Boobies was just like that; she didn't think politeness was necessary. Tundra caught her on the way out, though, and gave her a necklace he claimed he'd made himself. Crimson had a matching one; giving them out to his loved ones was apparently something Tundra liked to do. Boobies accepted it begrudgingly; it was rather stupid. Maybe she'd give it to one of her pups later. [ added Owl Talon Necklace ]
By this time, the rest of the pack had gathered, too. Boobies sighed, but waved her tail goodbye as they called farewells and well-wishes. She hurried away with her sons and daughters, ready for their next adventure.

A Seldom Seen Pack
Oct 26th - Nov 11th

October 26th
It was at some point that Boobies realized that she had yet to travel any further south in her journey. She had heard rumors of the desert, which seemed so foreign to her experience with the vast tundra and towering mountains. The vast expanse of warm sand was alluring, and one of her pups, bless them, seemed to be just as eager as she was to explore. Nobody, not a single wolf, could prepare her for how intolerable the sand and heat would be. She was just about to turn her pups around when a strange female approached her with a wagging tail. She was Tiofal of A Seldom Seen Pack, and she had heard rumors about Boobies. How was it that wolves she never heard of were all so eager to meet her?

October 30th
It became quite clear to Boobies that her puppies were not set out for the traveling life. They became quite obnoxious about their desires to settle down and go home. Tired of their ramblings, Boobies set her nearly adult pups on their path home, without her. She trusted that they would be fine, especially that odd three-eyed pup who almost seemed to fit in with the strange corruption that shook the land. It also helped to know that Tiofal had secretly sent out a small patrol to help follow the pups out of the harsh desert. Boobies was delighted to hear a flawless report from the returning escorts. Her pups were indeed safe. Home and safe. And as glad as she was, there was a strange hollowness in her chest where her pups once had been.

November 2nd
Those first nights without her pups had been particularly brutal. She had never realized how cold the desert nights could get without their warmth. Tiofal took pity on Boobies, deciding to gift her a Celtic Cloak [Black]. And while the cloak brought her warmth and helped keep the sand from her coat, she still felt that emptiness. The wolves of Seldom Seen were sociable enough, but at the end of the day they returned to their family groups. Boobies did not want to think about the families and bloodlines of Seldom Seen. It was all the wolves could talk about. Did they not realize that their talk could quite possibly bore a wolf to death?

November 11th
As one season turned to another, so did the wolves of Seldom Seen. They gathered their old and their young, then set off on yet another voyage within the vastness of the desert. The change of scenery was nice for Boobies. She was able to wag her tail again, as the constant travelling of the pack was good to keep her mind focused on the present. Was that how all these arguing families held together? The shared struggles of an endless journey? Struggles she now shared. And with them, she found herself more welcomed within the various inner circles. It was all going so well. Yet, as the pack came to settle once more, the urge for her to continue her journey remained. Her paws needed to wander further. Somewhere else. Maybe somewhere new. Maybe somewhere old. She said her farewells to the wolves she had learned to care for. And though the chances were slim, maybe she would find her way back another time. But for now, it was time to continue moving on. Moving forward.
