Persephone sits on the edge of the pack after the passing ritual for her mate Hades. His time had come and no longer could she bury her nose in his pelt and escape the problems of the pack briefly.
She sat there for a while until her hunting group called out her name and she trotted over to join them in another hunt. Life goes on she supposed and she needed to provide for her pack.
When they return from the hunt she's exhausted and annoyed that she wasn't much help. Her head wasn't there and her paws wouldn't move how she wanted them to. She huffs in frustration walking away from the group. She can feel the stares they give her as she walks away and doesn't dare turn and look at them.
Later, as she sits by the giant oak tree at the edge of the meadow her son appears. He lays his head on hers and comforts her. Persephone leans into him and inhales his scent. That's right. Her mate was gone but her son was here. She relaxes and after she calms down she pulls away and lays down in the soft patch of grass.
A month later
Persephone watches as her son approaches her with a newer member. They're a pretty young female who has the same fur traits as them. Persephone smiles as she watches them and greets them joyfully when they draw near. Her son greets her and asks about her well being before finally introducing his friend as Ivy. "Mother, this is Ivy one of the new members to the pack. Ivy this is my mother Persephone." The two she-wolves nod and begin chatting. After a few minutes Ivy pauses and looks at Venom. He nods and proceeds to inform Persephone that he planned to take Ivy as his lifelong mate. Persephone lights up in joy and congratulates them.
