Pirate suffered the most when Kestrel decided to become a traveller. While he admired his brother's independence and raw taste for thrills, they were just that- brothers, the only two of their litter, and had forged a deep connection. Every reunion whenever Kestrel returned to check in with Alsace was purely bittersweet.
In an attempt to come to terms with his greif as he missed Kestrel for moons on end, he decided to follow a similar path' when one of their pack's scouts, Geneva, expressed her reluctance to continue with her pack role, Pirate enthusiastically asked to fill it.
He could journey with his brother in spirit, at least, while they were apart; he exploring biomes solitarily, Kestrel exploring with his everchanging packmates.

Starting out adulthood as a chaser but quickly switching with Geneva to become scout, Pirate spent most of his life in this fairly repetitive but never disappointing role. Though not taking on a mate himself, he became a father figure for his brother Kestrel's pups, Grouse and Candy Beans, when Kestrel was away on his travels. Eventually retiring to be replaced by Hound in scourting, he spent the last portion of his adulthood and his elder moons mentoring pups. He served mostly under Fenris, but under her successor, Lendrithlay, too.
