Hail

(RMA, maybe leader?) (CHASM X HAIL)

Shortly before he was born, the Pack's long-time Pup-Sitter, Daylight, had died, causing his mate and the Pack's healer, Stone, to fall into a deep depression.

Hail grew up on stories of Daylight. He was a legend around the camp, as he had raised many of the wolves in it, and his death had left a notable scar, one the young pup couldn't understand.

As he grew older, he found himself drawn to the now almost reclusive healer. The young pup wanted to learn more: about Daylight, and healing, and how this one wolf's life - and death - had left such a mark on so many.

It took moons for the older wolf to open up, but, as time went on, he did, slowly teaching Hail their history. The loss of his mate. Stories they had shared. Stone eventually went on to share his old Pack's beliefs, outside of Solaris and Lunen, along with his healing methods, as he taught Hail the ways of a healer.

However, it soon became clear Hail was missing something valuable when it came to Healers, something that Stone couldn't teach him. The young male lacked the ability to "Spirit Walk", or interact with the Spirit World, an ability nearly all Healers are born with, and is incredibly difficult to teach. As Healer's deal with spirits often, interacting with them is vital to the job, and Hail essentially failed his Trial, which required him to Walk into the Spirit World and back during the new moon - the time believed to be easiest for things to happen, as Lunen as is walking the earth.

However, Stone was too old to teach another wolf. He passed Hail, with the two knowing the young male had no access to their ancestors, and the two agreed that, should Hail find a wolf with said ability, they would be taught immediately as a Healer.

Stone died soon after Hail "passed" his Trial, leaving the young wolf to search on his own.
