Yakie: Cow of the North

Yakie is a classic, Texas Longhorn born to the infamous Raging Bull of the Prairie lands. She found her way to the Galactic Ones territory by roaming with her mother, where they were ambushed by a team of hunters. Beta Tauri and Yakie were separated from each other during the chase, with Yakie being the main target.

Before she was attacked by the team's finisher, Yakie pleaded for her life. To the surprise of the hunting team, they were able to understand her. A cow calf speaking in wolfy tongue was unheard of. The hunters were left confused and unsure what to do. They didn't want to hear a calf's pained screams if she could speak their language. Their whole reason of coming here was to hunt, however. Ultimately, the lead stalker of the team decided that the calf should be brought back alive to the pack. That way, Alpha Cherry Root and Queen Daybreak could decide what to do with her.



Bringing a live calf to their cedar tree forest offered the team scorn and confusion from their packmates. They had to deal with it as the calf was lead to the leader's den. The alpha wanted the team to dispose of the calf, while the queen wanted the calf to live. Even the pack leaders were torn on what to do with the calf, so they had a vote among them and the elders.

The vote ultimately ended in a tie, so Cherry Root decided to keep the calf around for a few days before making a final decision with Daybreak. When that day came, they agreed to let the calf live under one condition. What was that condition? That she helped lure other bovine into the hunting grounds for the hunting teams to track. Yakie was forced to agree, otherwse she would be on the menu.

Now, Yakie the cow lives in the Galactic Ones territory, helping the pack forage for herbs while also luring in big game for the hunting teams. She has a heart like that of a predator; indifferent to the death of animals who she has to trick. That does not mean she's cold hearted. Yakie is far from it, as she helps her pack whenever she can, including nursing puppies.
