Her mother, Clara, made sure to let him know he was a descendant of Vera, the leader and founder of the ally Amber Sky pack. Codrin never really cared as much, simply accepting it as a fact. Eventually became mates with Frost, who was suddenly chosen as Pack Representative, a high-ranking political role. As Frost was River's son, and the Pack's leader had recently chosen another son to lead after her death, causing many of the Pack to accuse her of favoritism. Codrin's sister, Adela, was one of these wolves, including a number of wolves he had once considered friends, and he now found himself in a and position between the two.

(Insert Frost/Adela relations, stuck between the two. Basically tells Frost "I love you, you idiot, Adela's wrong and I don't agree with her" and Adela "Hey, that's my mate and you may not like/agree with him but leave me out of him and at least try and show him some respect. Also maybe try and reel your friends in and try and respect Briar some maybe?")

Frost's rank has led their relationship to be more on the "casual" side. They love each other dearly, but have both accepted what the role entails.
