Biography
His looks without pose
Balder was a strong pup. His litter was Asuna's and Stahlhast's. The mother - one of the strongest wolves in the pack aswell as one of the prettiest. The father - a well-known male from a foreign pack. Nobody knew, when exactly Asuna became pregnant with him and she never told anyone - she had just disappeared for a little longer while scouting and a while later she came back, pregnant with four wonderful pups:
Yul, Autumn, Pine and Balder.
Even though his sisters were a little bigger and stronger than him, Balder was by no means weak - he did not seem to know though. From puppyhood on, he was always a little more careful than his sisters, wasn't too rough with anyone and held back. He also seemed a little shy towards wolves he didn't know. When he opened up to someone, was was the sweetest and absolutely amiable.
When his sisters started training, ready to prove themselves, Balder took his time and wasn't so sure if he would really help the pack. Until one day, the great scout and breeding male Snoot asked him, if he wanted to join him on a scouting mission. He was hesitant at first, not knowing how far they would go, but ultimately agreed. He really admired the elder wolf too much to say no!
The mission went great, Balder always stayed behind a bit, unsure of the new terrain, but realized that he had no problem keeping up with the experienced wolf. Returning back home, Snoot announced to him that he wanted him to join more often and that he was talented. Talented?? Him??
He grew with his training and did great. When his trainer had reached a certain age, it was time to him to retire from his role and help training pups. That was when Balder really became the new Scout. He was excited. And going on these scouting missions alone scared him a bit. But he did great.
One day - Balder was nearly two years old - Snoot and Delilah came up to him after he came back from the desert and told him some news: "Balder, my boy. You might have realized that I am not the youngest anymore... The pack needs a new breeding male very soon. And I cannot imagine anyone in here that would be suited better than you."
Balder didn't know what to say. First of all: His mentor is gonna die soon?? No way! And also: why would HE become the breeding male?? He barely knew how to handle that. He had no clue about females. He also wondered what he could offer the pack as the breeding male. Why him?
"I can see, you are hesitating. But believe me, we are very sure about this and would love you to accept", Delilah said, "Please think about it. " Then they left.
Balder was confused. He went on his next mission right away, had to clear his head.
In the end, he decided to accept... Soon, it would be time.

His life as stud and scout was nice. Balder became more confident - he didn't loose his kind heart and cuteness though. He was great for the pack, helped where he could and proved himself strong when the war started. Even with the war raging on, Balder went scouting alone and had no problems dealing with the cultists. And when he saw too many at once, he managed to stay hidden and get assistance.
When he was 3 1/2 years old, attacks became more frequent. The pack had struggles going on, so Balder decided to do something weird. He seeked the cave that he was told about so many times. The one cave that granted the former breeding male Flint his third eye and the powers that came withhin. Because as time had gone by, the Total Eclipse eyes seemed to have lost in... magic. The bearers of the eyes didn't have any abilities or anything similar as the stories said. They were just normal wolves...
Anyways, Balder looked for the cave. He did as Flint had done in the stories: He went during a special moon event in the middle of the night and found the cave. Inside there were beautiful blue lights. Balder went inside and laid himself down in front of a little puddle. Looking into it, he could see himself - but he was ablaze and surrouned by blue lights - more than usual. He gathered his bravery and lowered his head... his nose touching the water... and his mind drifted away.

After a while, Balder woke up. His vision was blurry and a dark layer shadowed the images. He looked around him, seeing just the insides of the cave... grey and without life. The scout shook his head and left, wandering towards his home, feeling that he had wasted important time here.
When he arrived in the Taiga, he was welcomed by a huge group of wolves... calling for him? He called back, walking towards them. "BALDER!!! Where were you?? We were looking for you!", one of them screamed. He was confused, he just went there yesterday evening? Yes, he's not usually gone overnight but it wasn't too bad. "One WEEK! That's how long we were looking for y-" Antarctica stopped mid sentence, "What happened??"
In a flash, Balders memories came back. A wise old creature - he didn't remember, what it was - had told him:"Flint carried the power of the Total Eclipse well but it cannot help you in these dark times... Your pack deems itself worthy so you shall recieve a stronger power... Carry it through your pack, defend yourself and survive!"
The group hurried home, Balder announced the news with everyone listening - except for a few warriors guarding entrances and nearby places. He stood on the pride rock next to Delilah and presented himself with three beautiful black eyes.
