Muddyfoot was a trusting little boy who loved his family very much. They were a close family in general, but right from the start, it seemed like Muddy was the odd one out. His three siblings looked exactly like mom Milkfroth and were very much like her in personality as well. But Muddy was different, both in color and personality. That made him feel left out. Mom didn't seem to notice and was happy to spend a few hours playing with her three little lookalikes. But dad Dawnlake saw that his little boy was lonely and made sure to pay him the most attention. Muddy was more like dad in personality anyway, and they became the best of friends.
At the Academy, Muddy studied speed and agility to build on his strengths. He was a good student, but a little awkward and shy. Dawn wondered where that came from, as neither he nor Milk were like that at his age. But regardless, Muddy consistently impressed his teachers with his willingness to do what he was asked. Even as other pups complained or hesitated, Muddy just went ahead and did whatever it was. With the encouragement of both his teachers and his dad, he began to come out of his shell and get more confident. Eventually, he was ready to jump right in with everyone else during the cooperation lesson he chose as his final class. His improvement and overall studiousness made the pupsitters feel comfortable recommending him for a hunter role.
