Fox found Berry's body today. She was lying next to a colourful plant, one that Sorrel had discovered to be highly toxic. Judging by the bite marks on the plant and the vomit near Berry, she had eaten quite a bit of the plant before succumbing to death. Chestnut and Storm mourn the loss of their daughter and the pack will never forget the energetic pup she once was.

Fox bounded into camp. "Pine! Storm! Sorrel! Chestnut! You need to see this." The four wolves trotted up to the scout. "What's wrong, Fox?" asked Pine. "It's about Berry, Chestnut." Chestnut's eyes widened. "Did you find her? She's been missing for two days now." Fox nodded without replying. She led her packmates out of camp and into the forest. A few moments later, they arrived at a small creek that ran through the middle of their territory. "Over here." Fox flicked her tail towards a small leafy plant. A few paces away from the shrub, a small bundle of black and white fur lay limply. Chestnut let out a shriek and raced to the body. Pine, Storm and Sorrel followed while Fox stayed where she was. The pup's eyes were wide open and she had flecks of foam and vomit around her mouth. Sorrel bent down to sniff her. "Cyclamen. Extremely poisonous." Pine stepped forward and pressed her muzzle to Chestnut's cheek. "I'm so sorry." "Why wasn't someone watching her? Robin should've had an eye on her!" "She had nine other pups to look after." Storm pointed out quietly. Fox padded up the the grieving queen. "Let's get her body back to camp for the vigil." Chestnut made no attempt at moving. She just sat there gazing at her dead pup. Carefully, Fox picked Berry up by her scruff and began carrying it back to camp. Storm and Sorrel trudged after her with Chestnut trailing behind them. Pine lifted her head to the stars. Goodbye little one. We'll miss you. She looked back at the plant for a moment but turned and followed the wolves back to camp.
